God cannot forgive you if you did not ask or want forgiveness. All who die will ultimately have made there decision for against God. The story in Luke 21 I think where Jesus spoke of the rich man and the poor man going to heaven gives some insight into this. Even if a person has 1000 more years to live they would still ultimately choose God or Satan. It's not like time run out on you - you decided and that is what you would have lived with for eternity if you could.

That is a question of temptation: though should not tempt the Lord your God.
When you go rub a store, does the police forgive you and let you walk away? I'm sure you know that question.
God has given us choice, either choose right or chose wrong. That is up to you.
God is a forgiveness God but we forget that God is consuming fire as well.
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries…It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:26-27, 31)
Yes, God is a loving and forgiving God, but he Will forgive you while you repent before death, because Jesus His son has to do the scarifies on His flesh, not after death.
So you know the truth, practice the truth, instead been a stone here to others because of stones many are getting more confuse and lost.

God said "Forgive and it shall be forgiven you" or, in other words, "Do unto others as you want others to do unto you"
God strongly desires to forgive us. The Bible says that God doesn't want ANY to perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.
But forgiveness isn't cheap - it cost God His Son. He is offering pardon for our sins (i.e. crimes against God), but in order to give that out wisely, He must require us to first repent and stop the sins.
He has given us till the day we die but after that, we must face judgement.
And God will not send anybody to hell who doesn't deserve it.
(be careful how you read this - we've all lied, cheated, taken what's not ours, coveted, lusted, hated in our hearts, etc, etc)
But worst of all, we've all rejected God's Son, Jesus Christ - until we ask His forgiveness, that is. NO body is born believing. Some find Jesus as an early age, while others take longer, but until we do, we are still in a state of rebellion, committing high treason against God's rightful authority, and so we all deserve the death penalty.

My personal opinion is God forgives everyone for everything (sooner or later). This opinion often doesn't sit well with many people, because it allows forgiveness for people like Hitler and Jeffrey Dahmer and people like that, but I really do think that when all is said and done, no matter how bad you mess up your life, that you'll be forgiven for it. It just might take some longer than others.

The bible says "it is appointed for man once to die, and then the judgment". The bible also says "today is the day of salvation". There is nowhere in the bible where it tells us that we get a "second chance" at repentance after death.
God does forgive....but our opportunity to receive His forgiveness, through His son....is while we live on this earth. After death, the choice we have made, while we lived, about who Jesus is will determine our eternal address.

You can not get into heaven without knowing Jesus. God is the ultimate forgiver, but he will not forgive you until you repent and ask for forgiveness.

We may be forgiven after our earthly life has ran its course. But the fact remains we are on this earth to learn and it will be much easier and better for us if we are forgiven on this earth than if we wait. We may never have the opportunity to change after we leave this body and if we do we can be assured that we will not get the same blessings later as we would get now.

I believe we are forgiven even before we commit a sin. That is the power of God's love and Grace. At my Church my pastor gave a good way to think of the word Grace. He said G-R-A-C-E is God's riches at Christ's expense. But we first have to ask for it.

Thank you for this question. It is VERY clear in the Bible that we are judged based on what we do while we are alive. So, we cannot mock God, be unrepentant, get to the pearly gates (so to speak), and say, "Whoopsie, NOW I'm sorry."
It will be too late.
We all have ample opportunity to believe in God. So, we have nobody to blame but ourselves.

God sees us through the innocent blood of His Son once we ask Him to be our Savior. The person who has accepted Him is going to Heaven. The person who hasn't cannot go to Heaven according to the Bible, and it will be too late for confessing.
