Do you capitalize names? I is a name of sorts if you were to speak or write in 3rd person you'd say "Everybody knows (insert name) is smart. It's sort of the same with the word I.

If i'm truly guffawing, I write "hahahahaha!" otherwise, I write lol even as something is stupid and that i want to chuckle on the fellow for being stupid, or maybe as something is humorous yet i'm unable to chuckle out loud (at artwork, case in factor).

The capitalized "I" is correct. You are referring to yourself as a noun. Lower case "i" by itself in reference to yourself is never correct. It is a lazy form of spelling for those who can't be bothered to push the shift key.

"I" must be capitalized when refering to the first person. The term "i" is only used online where grammar isn't as necessary/commonplace.
