I had a sort of mohawk-like, 3inch thick, line of hair lasered off of my head because of a bet. I went through 5 sessions to have it done so right now it's baby butt smooth.

My dad says this might get in the way of getting a good job and I sort of see where he's coming from. I told him it wasn't permanent but my friend tells me it is.

Is lasering your hair off permanent? Is there a way to get it to grow back?

Oh boy.....First off, it's supposed to be permanent.
Laser tech hair removal was the first advertised to be the "permanent" solution. You know, for all sorts of unwanted hair like back hair, ect.

GETTING IT BACK go back where you got it removed and ask if their is a way to stimulate the follicles to grow OR go to a high end treatment clinic.

THREE, get rid of those "friends" because only a**holes would ask you to laser it off. They KNEW it was permanent and took advantage of your lack of knowledge.....what else are they willing to do, and to do to others that are not there "friends"??

PS. Your dad is right. How many people in high paying positions do you see with messed up hair unless they own their own business?
People judge you by how you look whether is right or not.
So, before you go into the work force, fix your teeth, whiten them, have nice clothes and speak well.
Oh, and .get a good skin care regime like Mary Kays Ultimate Miracle Set....seriously.
Because looking young will keep you in "the market" longer and promotion will come eaiser. I'm telling you this now because if you start at 18 you will always look 10-20ys younger then every one else your age.

Lasering off your hair is supposed to be permanent. If it doesn't grow back there is no way to make it grow back. Sorry.

I'm not sure if it will be permanent or not but the procedure does sound rather drastic. If it turns out that it will NOT grow back, you should have the whole head done and go for the Vin Diesel look.

Good luck.

It does take your hair off and many people have said that their hair still grew back and they found no difference. Even with those whose hair didn't completly grow back, it is found to be that with each treatment you should expect a 20-30% growback. If all else fails get a wig!! ;)
