There are many "gods" which are both spiritual and material entities. I pray to the "Creator."

There is but one Creator, and that One, is Holy.

By the impossibility of the contrary. Without the christian God - nothing makes sense.

For example many eastern religions say that God is all and all is God. everything else is an illusion ( maya).
So if that were true then God is a rock , a cockroach, a pile of dung etc. If you believe that, why flush God down the toilet ?God is also good and evil so why do we assume God is just good when we pray to Him ?

Other beliefs can not account for the origin of the universe. Because at one time there was nothing. So where was God then? God can't create Himself . That is a self contradiction. He would have to exist prior to existed which makes no sense. Then if everything else is an illusion then their statement that everything is an illusion is an illusion and not to be believed.

In Christianity God is outside of creation. So He created the universe and is not a part of it. Like a painting is not the painter. He/she is separate from the painting.

God is all powerful so He can create the universe. All these great attributes fit the christian concept of God. I am sorry I could say a lot more but time is limited.

I believe my God is the same as the others' God. I just think there are differences of opinion as to what comes after God. Such as Jesus, some of the Biblical stories, how people are to behave, etc. I think different people/religions get caught up in the "little" things about their particular religion. Most religions begin with a Supreme Being (God) and then the differences begin. I don't know if I'm exactly right as a Christian but I do believe in God and the basic tenets of Christianity, which some can also be found in other religions..

He is the most appealling, intelligent, cogent, logical one. Take for example his biblical prophecies; Who knew the end from the beginning? Him only, absolutely. Did any religion foresaw that you were going to be buying and selling with a marked number as you are already doing. Read revelation chapter 13:16-18. You and everything you buy or sell is under that system that 2000 years ago only God knew about it. Think of it! And of course there are many, many other similar accounts in his book. God bless you!!!

This is a great question ~ and you'll notice you aren't getting a whole rush of answers. I am a Christian, but I believe it is *possible* that all religions are in fact worshiping the same deity by different names (God, Allah, the giant flying hairy blue booger, whatever). All holy books make mention of false idols and prophets and claim that their God is "the one true God". The important thing to remember is that these books were written, edited, translated and interpreted by MEN ~ so in reality they are proof of nothing. Just as American history textbooks tell the American view of history, the Bible tells the Christian view of history. I use the Bible as the guide for my life, and I praise God every day. But I am open to the possibility that there is more to the story than what we are told in the Bible and by our clergy.

It is, quite simply, the most logical choice. I've looked at all sorts of religions, and Christianity is the one that makes the most sense.

Yes, there are areas of confusion in Christianity (try truly explaining the trinity - it is more difficult than it sounds), but the foundation is intact. Other religions have weak foundations.

As an example, take Satanism. If you read this book, you find that Satan CHOOSES to be in Hell. And yet, it is then written that he is looking to find a way out if it. If Satan really chose Hell, why couldn't he just leave?

You see?

If you take Islam, we have NO witnesses to this conversion. One guy says he is powerful, so we take that on faith?

First off... the term "God" has lost its meaning. Ask 100 people what "God" is ... you'll get 75-100 different answers. For me, I believe in Jesus Christ... because that's what makes sense to me. If you study Christianity, Jesus Christ is/was "God" in the flesh. That makes it easier for me to accept because he was actaully here on earth and lived a documented existence. A "God" that isn't exactly some all-powerful, pre-existent, invisible floating, deity-thing, but instead a human that I can actually pattern my life after... that's what seems rational to me.

yes, true all cultures have a god. a man made god, a graven image, idols.
in the holy bible, there's only 1 true god.
1 of the 10 commandments says: thou shalt have NO OTHER GOD'S B/4 ME, THOU SHALT NOT WORSHIP ANY IDOLS OR GRAVEN IMAGES. I'M A JEALOUS GOD.
i'm not knocking all religions, but the religion depends all on our personal relationship with jesus christ.
some cultures have never heard of god, jesus christ, lamb of god. son of god. jehovah jira, etc.
the alpha & the omega, the beginning & the end.
if you read the holy bible, & there's only 1 holy bible(different versions), the the truth will set u free.

I believe that people should study all different religions. How come we can't all share a god and let the others (jesus, mohamed, etc) be considered prophets. ALL major religions follow the same basic principals.... Treat everyone how you would like to be treated, no killing, etc. WHY CANT WE BE FRIENDS???

I believe my god is the One God and far better than your god because I am me and the world revolves around me and if I believe it then it must be the absolute truth of EVERYTHING!!!

Now, if only everyone could see how stupid this argument sounds?
