Danny pretty well knocked it. For literally billions of years, nothing at all lived on our planet. And when finally life arose, it began with simple microbes.
"Goths" is the name used for two major tribal groups that arose in Europe - the eastern Goths (Ostrogoths) and the western Goths (Visigoths). These were Germanic tribes, and they eventually brought about the destruction of the western Roman Empire. They went on to found kingdoms in Italy, Spain and France (YES! the French are really GERMANS! what a delicious irony!). The Visigoths are among the ancestors of both the Spanish and the Basques.
Until about 20 years ago, "goth" was a derisive nickname for barbaric people who behaved badly. Now it is a nickname for people who read Anne Rice novels and behave badly - or want others to think they do. Today's "goths" are much like yesterday's "beatniks" or "zoot suiters."
I am sure that when humans finally reached the point of developing some kind of cultures and social organization, there were young people who were rebellious, dissatisfied, questioning, and completely embarrassed by their parents. And at that point maybe those kids decided to dress like cave men, or Neanderthals, or - horrors! - Cro-magnons. (However those creatures dressed.) Maybe those young people put bones through their noses, glued animal fur to make their eyebrows look extra shaggy, and walked around stooped over, dragging a club behind them and making menacing grunts. These would have been the proto-goths.
But remember - that's a long, long time down the path from the first few years of Earth ......
The word "goth" comes to us from Latin and Greek, according to the Oxford English Dictionary.

The first few years of the existence of the world had no people, and i think the first few hundred million years still had no people.
Gothic culture as the mainstream media represents it does not give true understanding of what it really is.
There are people that see goths as being rebels, and fair enough some are rebels, but from another perspective Gothic culture arose from a certain period of human social development.
There isn't any properly documented facts surrounding the creation of this culture, but it may have started in 700 CE. With the vikings or even the normans and saxons.
This is just my opinion, but i think it is a fair answer.

Actually, there weren't any people for the first few hundred million years or so. The real Goths were Germanic Tribes that rose in Europe around 100 AD or so. Today's Goth's are just sorry posers.

Wow what an incredibly uneducated question.
First few million years of the world - nothing, no life, nothing. Interestingly when the first single-celled life forms appeared, the first thing they thought was "hmmm.... wonder if there are any goths around here....". How coincidental...

There were no people, or living organisms, in the first few years of the world's existence.
