Start off slowly... For instance, if it's an 8oz bottle make it 6oz formula and 2 ozs cow's milk. Do that for three or four days and then increase it. 4oz formula and 4oz cow's milk. 2ozs formula and 6 ozs cows milk.
Whatever you do... DO NOT add Karo Syrup, honey or sugar to his milk!!! It will only rot his teeth and give him a taste for sugary sweet things. Its not necessary.

well every parent etc have done things there own ways ie bottle training toilet training etc , what i did after doc said that te child can be placed on regulsr milk i droped the formula aqll together , , and what i did was add a lil water to the regular milk ie like 4 oz of regular milk to 2 oz of cold water , i did this for a few days till they were on whole milk and there were no reactions aty all , if the child is a year old u need to place the milk in a sippy cup not a bottle and start training the child to be bottle free , nothing worse than a toddler running around with a bottle in hand 24 7 , the longer you keep the child on the bottle the hardder it will be to break them off the bottle

I was told to mix it. First put about 1/4 bottle milk and the rest formula. If he does ok with that, after a few days make it about 1/2 milk. Then just slowly work him up to all milk. Make sure he is doing ok and not getting sick or anything. My daughter had a milk allergy at first and had to stay on formula a while longer. The doctor said that was not uncommon. Good luck!

I switched my daughter buy making her bottles with warmed whole cows' milk instead of formula. It tastes better than formula so she didn't complain a bit. However her daddy and I noticed her nose was a bit runnier and her wet diapers smelled awful for a few weeks. The pediatrician said it was because of the switch to cows' milk.

Most doctors will tell you to wait until the child is a year old and then just switch them. I don't think I've ever heard of a child who rejected cow's milk for formula. BTW, it should be whole milk.

By gradually changing the ratio of formula to milk over the course of a week or two. In his next bottle, substitute one oz for cows milk. Increase cows milk by one oz in every bottle each day.... day two, two oz. of cows milk in every bottle, day three, three oz... and so on. Watch for loose stool or stomach upset and other allergic reactions just in case your son is lactose intolerant... Good Luck!

American Dairy Board has done a very effective job of marketing this product. Most people believe they need to consume large, daily quantities of milk to achieve good health. NOTHING could be further from the truth.
Your son shouldn't be drinking regular milk at such a young age. If he at all shows symptoms of congestion, ear infection, then you will know that I speak the truth and will find alternatives. Please do yourself and your son a HUGE favor, don't drink milk. Read the source link for more.
