I have a Siberian Husky that has one blue eye and one brown eye. Yes they are very good dogs but are you ready for one? If you live some where it is hot then you need to have shelter and water and make sure they come inside. Huskies are prey drive some huskies like mine can get along with cats. But they do chase bunnies, sqierlls, hamsters, chipmonks. Basically everything that moves. You never want to have aover weight Husky. They should weight about 80lbs. Mine weighs 65lbs because she is in good shapes. They love the cold. They don't like to go out on walks that much in the summer but in the winter they will want to go for alot. You should have a 6ft fence because they can hop fences lower than that. You have to realzie this type of breed has alot of work. O and they also dig in your yard. If you know that you are really ready for a Husky, than get one. They do get seperation anixety so it is best to get 2 dogs. How much time will you have to spend with it? How lond are it's walks going to be? Godd Luck Maybe do a little more research. O and the prices range from $300-$500

From a "real" breeder (one who breeds for show), $750 to as high as the stars
From a backyard breeder, figure $500-700, plus vet bills acquired from poor breeding practices
From rescue or Petfinder.org, maybe $100. Whatever they ask to offset costs of rescuing.
just a note on huskies... many are very good escape artists. they'll slip collars, chew cables, jump fences, or dig under them. They also require a lot of exercise (probably double what other dogs their size require), and can be very stubborn and hard to train. On that note, I'd definately choose rescue, so they can match you with a dog that suits your needs, and will have already had some training. E-mail me, if you like - castawaycp@yahoo.com. I'd be happy to hook you up with a great rescue near you, or help in any way. Just ask!

There is no such breed as a "mini husky".. I dont beleive that AKC told you this either, as AKC does not promote breeding mixes. You may be thinking of an Alaskan Klee Klai.. they are similar to the husky in appearance and are small dogs. They are an established purebred, although not yet recognized by the AKC, they are recognized by other registries, such as the UKC. They are not very common here in the US.. I would expect to pay at least $1,000 to obtain a pet-quality one.

if you are asking how much my siberian husky pup costs I would say $500 more than the average priced siberian as it ate my $500 siamese cat. No joke this dog will eat anything that gets within 2 feet of his face.

You should be able to find a Husky puppy for appro. $200-400. Maybe less if it isn't reg. and you just want it as a pet. Sometimes shelters have them check them out, that would help you and dog.

$1K is higher than market.
Figure between $500 and $800 if AKC from good lines. I quickly googled and found reputable breeders with good lines selling at $650.

Purebreds can run from 200-850 (+ or -) depending on the breeder and what they are breeding them for. Whether they be from Champions, race, or pet...you just need to check out different breeders, thoroughly, for your needs.
