A small bakery in Fresno, California (of all places), called Hungry Bear cookies. They don't overdo it on the chocolate. They're just soft enough, just chewy enough and they use the highest quality ingredients. Plus, they taste so danged good.
My second choice is Paradise Bakery. I think they toast oatmeal, grind it up and put it in the dough. Gives the cookie a nice chewiness.

Ben's cookies are the best cookies in the UK. There is a shop in Bath and one in London (Covent Gargen), and there may be more I haven't discovered yet!
The cookies are so soft and gooey inside mmm...
Want one now! Shame I live in Leeds really.

My mother does because she makes everything homemade and from scratch. She never bought instant cookies or an out of the box mixture.

The best homemade are made by my boss, Jim. I don't know what he does to them, exactly, but wowee wow wow!
The best you can buy are Christie Cookies. You can order some raaaaaaaght now, no matter where in the world you are.... yummmm... gotta go! =)

I do lol. it's the crisco sticks. they keep the cookies thick, soft and chewy. just replace the butter with the crisco stick, the wrapper on the stick will tell you how much crisco for the butter, just don't use the water they tell you to use with the crisco stick. very yummy
