I'm 13 and have long blonde hair that's usually soft. It's completely strait except for my baby hairs which are curly. I haven't ever died or got highlights or got a perm or anything in my hair. It's completely natural. But if I try to curl my hair it will go flat within 15 minutes. I'm thinking about getting a perm. Should I?? What are some pros and cons?

Perms can damage your hair, sometimes if your hair will not hold a curl it may not hold a perm. But I know lots of women that get perms, and as long as you take care of it, and only re perm every 3-6 mo it should be fine. After you perm your hair do not get high lites. And if you do make sure you tell the hair dresser what you have done with your hair, so he/she will know how to go about it. Putting chemicals in your hair can stress the hair. So, just make sure you take care of it.
If you do get a perm go for a larger perm rod if you just want a wave, and a smaller one if you want a tighter curl. Maybe even opt for a spiral perm. Those look good on long hair.

Do not perm your hair. I know someone who had really nice soft straight hair and then they got a perm and since then (7 years ago) their hair has been very dry...perms are terrible for your hair as is coloring it or using heat appliances...people always want what they dont have..i have super curly hair which ive learned to love..everyone tells me im soo lucky but some days id really love to have your soft hair...I think God gave you what looked best on you..if you want some waves, you could braid it while its wet and sleep on it, or scrunch it while its wet in the morning and let it dry naturally...if you just want a change you could get highlights.

A pern won't make you go bald or anything. I'ts really good that you have healthy "untouched" hair. I would go for it. The cons of getting a perm too often is that it can really dry your hair up. the pros for you and your healthy hair is that you will probably love it and look great. I hope this helps you.

Perms do damage your hair (but not permanently). The chemicals can be harsh and can cause your hair to dry out. If not done properly it can cause your hair to break off. Make sure you get it done by a professional and treat it well. They can tell you how to take care of it so that you hair stays healthy.

perms give more volume and bounce in the hair, but if you dont have to right person doing the perm, your hair can be overprocessed and dry out. a professional salon should know the right amount of time for processing.

anything that involves chemicals is bad for your hair and if u do get it make sure its what you want because then u have to wait for it to grow out to have straight hair again
