Because without god we lack the morals or fortitude to believe in god.
So, the answer to your question, "why are we all so mean", is this:
Jesus.
(That it the answer to everything, right?)

You asked the evolutionist to explain evolution and then you expect the evolutionist to tell you about God. That is like asking a girl to explain what it is like being a guy. You are asking the wrong question.
The evolutionist doesn't think they are wrong. You think you are right don't you ? You should do your homework really. There is evolution occuring. A person can believe in evolution and God as well. Even a creationist will tell you that evolution to some extent is happening.
And for you to ask the question why are people so mean ?
Have you ever gotten angry or mean at someone ? If I were to ask your parents , friends, or teachers if you are always nice and gentle what would they say ?
What are your faults? Because if you are so good then I guess you can make it to heaven on your own works then . Right?

Because all men are bad, and that included women.
Read:2 Timothy 3:13
while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
So this is what men are doing to each other, instead of helping, they are been more a problem to others.
Yes, it is sad that this is happening, and still people cannot believe the scripture of the Lord Jesus. It is place right under their nose and they cannot see.
2 Samuel 23:6
But evil men are all to be cast aside like thorns, which are not gathered with the hand.
Ecclesiastes 6:1
I have seen another evil under the sun, and it weighs heavily on men:
Mark 7:21
For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,
John 3:19
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
Wow and read this one:
Philippians 3:2
Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh.
2 Thessalonians 3:2
And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith.
Jude 1:16
These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.
So everywhere in the word of God you can find these type of people influence by the demons and doing evil..Because that is the only thing Satan knows to do: evil..so all men that participate of evilness are children of Satan.
I am sorry for the girl that could not get the right answer.
But here we have to be ready for Satan's target.

I don't think it's that people are "mean" - I think it's more that people aren't as informed as they should be. If you believe in something you should be able to explain it, and do it in a way to enlighten the person you are talking to.
People who believe in evolution should be able to explain how it happened or why they believe it happened. Evolutionists aren't going to say they are wrong because they can't explain their beliefs. Many people take what their parents/teachers have taught them as being fact and they don't ever look into it for themselves and form their own opinion.
Believing in evolution is easy for some people because they don't want to believe that there is a God that is greater than they are and that created the heavens and the earth - as well as everything and every person in it.

Why would you expect a science lesson here? If she really wants to know type in evolution in a search and do a little reading on your own. Watch the Discovery Science Channel. It's not like religion where you can sum it up in one sentence "god did it".
Go to a museum, most of them have actual fossils you can look at that prove without a doubt the evolutionary process. It's all there to look at and then make your own decision.
Looking at evidence and making a rational decision based on that evidence takes time.

I think Creationists (I'm one of them) can get too pious (as in, you MUST agree with me or you are WRONG). Similarly, Evolutionists can get too snobby (I'm an Evolutionsist, therefore, I am progressive).
I respect the POV of an Evolutionist, even though I do not agree with him or her. That's the key. A Christian who is not tolerant is not a Christian. We can proclaim Jesus' word but if you don't respect someone, that's not what being a Christian is all about.
As to your question of Why we all are so mean, I think if you have God on your side and you have JC on your side, and you've got the Holy Spirit on your side, and you REALLY have this, you can't be mean.

It is not mean to point out someone's stupidity and ignorance to them - it is an act of kindness. Of course the brain-dead who do not accept the fact of evolution are probably beyond help and would be more suited to a kindergarten class where they could communicate with those of their own mental abilities. Perhaps they could talk about their favorite fairies.

If she asks that from evolutionists...I understand the answer. Maybe she did not know that evolutionists must have much more faith to their theory than creationists have to have.
People are mean. So are you.

And you get to know, smartie. Get yourself some proof. Do you actually believe people just because they tell you things, next thing would be belong to other because he is told so. It can seem nice to avoid thinking, if you have no purpose it is fine, it does not help have some who go wondering around grasping none, society is based on family, not beliefs. Grow with love.

The statement, what this implies there is a "God" isn't really a scientific statement but rather is a philosophical one.
Answered her question to the best of my ability. In fact I answered the question four times and not once was I mean to her.

Because to question faith is human but to prove it is impossible just like trying to prove the science of the big bang.So to ask her for proof of her magical God is the same thing as her asking to prove the science of the big bang.Only difference is that the greatest scientific minds are working against her.
