ok weird! I have also been doing some investigating into this idea, I think its a cool choice for a tattoo. So far there are two that I like, I don't know the latin phrases off hand but you can look them up on google, anyway they translate to:
'I hate and I love'
and
'Remember to Live'

I'd say make it something very personal and meaningful to you. Don't get something trendy or because you think it's cool now, and names are not a good idea either. You'll change your mind a million times. It has to be something you will want for the rest of your life. Don't' get me wrong, I love tattoos. I got one and since then I wanted more, but I wouldn't tattoo anything on my body unless it's something I'm sure about. So give it alot of thought, and be absolutely sure before you get any tattoo.

How about : 'Sic transit e gloria mundi'? Means, 'There goes the glory of the world'. Or 'Veni Vidi Vici' which means 'I came I saw I conquered' Pretty cool, Hey? If they don't suit, check out the web for sites on Roman history, and you're sure to find something you like.

How 'bout 'Gloria in Excelsis Deo,' which is 'Glory to God in the Highest.' The Bible, by the way, says don't get a tattoo. (I got one before I knew that. Oops.)

P.S. If something specific in Latin hasn't already set your heart on fire, do you really want it tattooed permanently on your bod? You know the old saying: 'Act in haste, repent at leisure.'

Do you really TRUST the people here enough to give you a genuine latin phrase that doesnt secretly mean something rude or stupid?

That's really up to you. I have 4 of them and each one means something to me. You need to find something that makes you feel good you have it.

Look at tattoo pics until you decide what you like, then go for it.

Good Luck.

If you insist on getting a tattoo then "momento mori" is as good a phrase as any. It means "remember you will die" so helps to keep everything in perspective...

I'm anti-tattoo, personally, but if I were going to get something in Latin I'd get "Veritas" (Truth) or "Carpe Diem" (Seize the Day).

Whatever you decide to get, draw it on yourself with marker and where is a few days...make sure you like it where you put it, like the colors, and even want one in general. This is what I did and it made me change a few things on mine...and I am glad I did! Happy tattoing!!!
