Besides eating right and working out, there isn't really much that can be done. My stomach got quite a bit better early on, especially once I started lifting weights and using the olyptical again, but my best friend had a baby nearly 3 years ago, and she is skinnier now then before she got pregnant, but she still has flabby skin hanging near the bottom of her stomach. It depends on your body type, how much wieght you gained while pregnant, and how you are handling getting the baby weight off. Most gyno's say that a good rule of thumb is: It took nine months for your body to make that baby and change the way it did, it's unrealistic to expect it to look 100% better in any less time than that. So you still have a few months to worry about recovering comepletely from your pregnancy. One thing you have to remember is that very few people get their pre-pregnancy body back EXACTLY the way it was. It's okay though, just look at your baby, and know that now you are a mommy, and you have the battle scars to show for it!

oh honey, 9 months up.....9 months down. that's the standard. give or take a few months. trying walking with the baby in a frontal pouch. if you have a grocery store in walking distance, and especially if you only need a few items that are carriable, do that walking instead of taking the car. walk to the park. talk to your baby about the trees, the dogs, the kids that are playing outside. You can bond with your baby and tone your body at the same time. try doing this for at least 30 minutes a day. brisk walking is not really necessary, just a slow pace will do. breastfeeding is also helpful if you are doing so already. granted you won't lose alot all at once, but after the 6 month mark you start dropping alot.

Congratulations on your new born baby. You can do more walking, stretching and leg lifts. If you are up to running then a slow jogging program can be used.

As the act of having a baby to some women's body is really traumatic to say the least. So exercises is extremely important. As you have a baby now.. you will need to get out and walk him/or her in a stroller anyway. So go for it.. walk more and even run.. the best exercises program for the mid section there is.

You will need to walk for 45 minutes three times or more a week. Be sure you keep your heart rate around 150 to 180 beats per minute while walking. If you are older than 30 then the heart rate should be around 130 to 150 bpm. If it is more or less it will not burn the fat cells in your body.

Good luck

It is most likely loose skin that's sticking out. I still have some too after 5 years since my last child they say it won't go away without surgery to remove it.I'm refusing to have it... for now. As for toning the muscles, you should go to your 6 wk check up before doing anything too strenuous. Congrats on your new baby!

i still have the same problem from many years ago. way back when women were kept in the hospital for two weeks i was told that the nurses use to wrap their stomaches up tight like a corset would to help flatten the stomaches as well as painting stitches etc... all the wonderful things that medical care use to provide before they decided natural and quick in and out was best.

breastfeeding is one of the easiest ways to shed baby weight. any excercise will help shed the weight, but ab workouts will help for sure.
