NOT a bad idea - a great idea! You have been together for a long time, so why would you consider a promise ring as something bad?

I dont think its a bad idea to give her a promise ring if you know deep down that she feels the same ways about you that you do her. To me all a promise ring symbolizes is the promise whatever it maybe that goes along with the ring.

How long have u been dating also depends on it. If u been dating for at least a year then u can, but they have to be into u and u have said u loved them or they said the loved u. U also have 2 feel it in your heart to know. Heart over mind. That usually works 4 me.

This is great all of the girls say that it would be a great idea. All of the guys think not. I am a guy so can you guess my answer. Too soon dude, wait until you can at least legally bump unglies. Don't give her the ring without being able to reap the reward, use you head man!

Yes, you are too young and not to spoil the ending but it is not going to last anyway. Between now and 24-25ish you both will become a lot different then you are now. I am sure you love this lady so enjoy her without making silly promises, just keep it going and see what fate has in store for you both.

im 18 and she is 17 too i gave her a 1000 dollar dimond promis ring on our 1 year... maybe dont be so extravagant ive fell for my girl scince i saw her 2 years ago will never let her, go aslong as she feels the same, and she knows that its a PROMIS ring not just jewlery, IT HAS A MEANING make sure she knows this or she wont care about it

Take it from me. Forget giving her a promise ring. Unless u are ready to make a commitment, don't do it. because u're gonna be makin yourself look like that's wats happening and she'll be mad in the end b/c she'll be especting something else from u. It's okay to get married young. i got married at 18 and i'm now 21yrs old. and i have 2 kids and happily married. if u feel your are too young, please don't confuse her and make that promise.

it is fine to do so, but understand that if you go to college and are separated then things can change.
However you chances for love and long life is together than if people meet in their 20's!!

Well, only you can answer that question...I think promise rings are cute and all, but why not wait until you get engaged instead?Give her an engaement ring..I dont really take those promise ring stuff seriously.

I don't think theres anything wrong with giving her a promise ring. If you feel that strongly about her, then you should show her how much you love her and that you are serious about a future with her.
