It is on a Stainmaster Berber carpet. We aren't sure when he got sick- could have been sitting there for up to 4 hours.

Try using 3% hydrogen peroxide. If the stain is really bad, you can use it full strength. If not, 50/50 mixture (half peroxide, half water). Spray or pour it on, then blot it up with a clean cloth. Peroxide works very well for hundreds of cleaning problems, is inexpensive and won't change the appearance of your carpet. It should, also, remove the odor. Good luck!

Try getting a paper towel or a clean lint free cloth and wet it. Then wring it out. Be sure to have more than one on hand. However, only wet one at the time. With the first dampened cloth, go to where the spot is and see if you can dampen the diarrhea and at the same time pick it up. When you have gotten as much as you can get up with this towel, take it and go to the garbage can and throw away the diarrhea. Then take a second paper towel and wet it and wring it out so that it is damp and continue your cleanup. When you have picked up all that the towel will hold take it to the garbage can and in the case of a paper towel, throw it away. If you are using lint free clothes, just empty the diarrhea by shaking it out. Continue this until you have picked up all the diarrhea and there is just a stain left. Then take another wet (this time) paper towel and put it down on the stain. Don't rub it but push it down so that the water soaks in. Then pick up the towel by the edges and see what is left. If there is more, take another wet towel and gently rub what it left. Then leave it to dry and the stain should be gone. After it is gone and the rug is dry, you may spray the area with Resolve carpet cleaner if you want to. It will smell nice.

Always use water on it first. Never put soap or chemicals on the poop still on/in the carpet. The best thing is to use a carpet steamer. Rinse the area well and once you have gotten all of the loose stool up with water, then you can clean the area with carpet solution. If you have a pet (dog or cat) I would suggest getting a small steam cleaner like the Bissel Green Machine. WELL worth it! http://www.bissell.com/Products/

If you can't do the steam cleaner, buy Spot Shot. Never Resolve!
Resolve turns carpets PINK. I don't recommend it.

Same type of carpet here. Resolve for Pet Stains, (not the regular Resolve) worked for me. Clean up the poop, spray the spot thoroughly and let it soak in for about 30 minutes. Spray it again and use a brush with long, semi-hard bristles. You may have to repeat this a few times, but my carpet is almost white, and there is no poop stain there!

Use any carpet purifier that has enzymes which will ruin down the canines poop. For gentle carpets additionally will use a purifier referred to as "Spot Shot". this is an aerosol that removes demanding stains like purple wine, kool help, lipstick, etc. i'm specific there are others. If it have been my own carpet, i might have it professionally wiped clean and sterilized. i does not opt to be rolling around on canines poop carpet.

Try 1 part ammonia to 2 parts water - test a small spot in an area you cannot see first tho to make sure your carpeting doesn't react badly to the solution.

i agree with the girl that said "awesome". you can get it at a dollar store and it works like magic. It takes EVERYTHING out. just let it sit for a minute and scrub a little and you'll have your carpet back!!!

You need to use resolve, then once it dries, scrub it out using a very close bristle brush . It sucks but its the only way.
