When it tells you about people getting stoned is it glorifying drug use?
Getting stoned is often a punishment in the bible. What substance did they use back then?

They used ergot poisoning and psychodelic mushrooms mostly.

Rocks about the size of softballs thrown as hard as they could be by hand.
The person being stoned was in a pit and couldn't get away from the stones. It was nearly always fatal.
Very similar to getting stoned today. You do it long enought it will kill you

you know what - when i first read "be stoned to death" I thought the the same thing.
I thought what kind of stuff did they have back then - weed strong enough to kill you. DAMN that must have been good times. Of course after I though about it for a while it became clearer.

pretty much the same natural stuff we have today.
mushrooms, lotus, mandrake, and pot.
they also fermented wine, but the wine was more fortified grape juice, and they also made strong alcohol.
nothing in being stoned glorifies drug use in the bible's context

People were trowing stones/rocks. Some of catholic saint´s were stoned and tortured in many other ways.

It was litterally getting stones thrown at you. Other substances, well they had wine and alcohol. Doesn't really talk about other things.
