You can't (accurately) categorize folks that way. There are intelligent, educated people on both sides of the aisle. And there are also some very ignorant people on both sides.

What you can count on is for any particular intelligent, educated person to feel the other side is full of idiots listening to propaganda. This is because the other side DOES have a lot of stupid people listening to propaganda, and the propaganda itself is generally very loudly delivered. The natural reaction is to think, "How can people be so stupid as to believe this stuff?"

But it's easy to ignore the folks on our own side of the aisle who are just as ignorant. We're not busy trying to sway their opinions, because they already agree with us, so we don't really have to deal with the effects of their ignorance.

Ask individuals on the right and left poignant questions and then check to see who is correct using research and reasoning not emotion and you will see the light!!!
.Also If the left is more informed, why can they never win a debate without using popularity or humor??
The people on the left and in the spotlight, try to win you to their side by either being overly emotional and accusing you of not caring, or, they try to be funny so You actually forget the facts or are not interested cuz you would rather laugh than think.
Do you see many people on the right doing this???
There is a reason for it...

By far the left is much more informed on real facts. I am shocked daily when I come here and hear some of the absolute bologna being thrown around by the right.

If you notice, most of us liberals will state facts in our answers where ppl like the person who answered above me just now, they only know how to make derogatory statements about the left.

Answerer 1 basically proved my point.

You'll find well informed, uninformed, follow the party no matter what and the obliviously ignorant on both ends of the spectrum, as well as in the middle.

I find that most people have a stand, but have no real clue how to either support their stand or refute it.

The masses are ignorant and our politicians like it that way. That way they can take advantage of both a popularity contest and the pack mentality.

Now, come on...

I have my leanings (the right ones), but both sides have lots of informed constituents. It's not a matter of who's better informed, it's a difference in belief systems that lead to different opinions.

We're all Americans - and we should fight for each other to have our own opinions. And then agree to disagree while continuing to stand for our beliefs.

it seems to me that both have access to the same information, it is how they portray it. The left has a tendencies to see and present things emotionally, while the right has a tendency to see things more straight line logic right/wrong kind of thing.

I prefer to read alot of different sources for my information and make up my own mind, knowing the whatever source I am reading is biased.

Left is more informed, but the Right doesn't care because they don't have to.

The left, by virtue of believing actual experts in a particular field and not having their data filtered through a blog or "FrontPageMag" because of some imagined media bias.
