The Bible doesn't even attempt to prove its own validity, nor does it attempt to prove the existence of God.
It starts right off with "In the beginning, God ..."
It is written with an assumption that God is, and He can be known.
Everything else follows a rather logical pattern from there - Adam and Eve disobey, so death and sin are presented to the earth; some people and nations trust and obey God, and they are blessed; others disobey God, and reap the consequences.
The proof, as they say, is in the pudding. Obey it and you will discover God's blessings. Disobey, and you discover God's judgement.
Oh yes - one more thing - while the Bible doesn't attempt to prove its own validity, the facts presented in the Bible have been proven accurate time and time again - in such diverse fields as archeology, geology, astronomy, and even nuclear physics.

Without any outside knowledge or source? I'm not entirely sure that's possible. You could talk about how consistant it is with itself. And there are scriptures that say, for example, that various NT writings are scripture just like OT writings.
However you really need some sort of outside source/knowledge to really PROVE it's validity, whether that's other historical documents, carbon dating, archeology, or whatever else.
BTW, regarding the unity of authors and age - one must have exterior historical verification to show that it wasn't a book written 2 months ago by a woman in Chile, so arguement that doesn't fly.
Also, don't by that whole bit of 'we must just have faith.' God has given us tons of evidence if we're willing to look at it with an open mind. The evidence of Jesus' resurrection alone is enought to prove the validity of the Bible with little or no 'faith' in the modern sense of the word (ie. blind faith).

It doesn't ever prove its own validity. Religion is based on faith, and most religions teach that God will not magically show his existence to you. You must simply use your faith to remain strong against doubt.
P.S: I assume you ask "Does the Bible ever definitively prove it is the true word of God?" not "Where in the Bible does it say that the Bible is the true word of God?"

It doesn't. Which is shocking due to the fact that mortals wrote it. I am surprised that so many people for so many centuries have put such faith in something that man wrote. It is amazing how much death and persecution has been administered because of a best seller.

i do not think that it does....that would be circular logic.
unlike my calculus book, i cannot pick up the teacher's edition and prove beyound a shadow of a doubt that the answer is what it is.
that is where faith comes in.
