definitely own up to it and apologize. it shows you have credibility and trustworthiness.

It depends. I got in a problem so big once, and when I realized I was wrong, I was at a point that if I spoke the truth nobody was going to believe me and would think I had been lying all the time. So I shut my mouth and it turned out to be better for me. jeje ;)

you have to admit it and apologise and say you've been a fool. if the otherperson can't accept an apology then it's their problem. they usually come round in a few days at most. i once took against the friend of a friend and i'd misunderstood what was said and lost the friendship.

The main thing that popped into my head when I read this question was men. My father has always warned me about the previous men that I was involved with and has always turned out to be right. I just admit that he was right and remind him that I'm human and am expected to make mistakes. He hasn't said anything about the one I'm with now, Thank God!!

i would just say okay i was wrong. that way you at least admitted it but if they get up in your face tel them to back off because they have probably been wrong more than once.
