When i was younger the only way I could make my hair wavy and stay wavy, was have my Mom put a little mousse or gel in wet hair, then braid it in 4 sections. Sleep overnight with the braids, then remove the braids in the morning and ta-da wavy hair!!! This will work for you- no doubt :)

A curly perm can make straight hair curl or wave just as a relaxer can make curly or wavy hair behave straight.I had a polish teacher in elementary school who had straight brown hair(Pretty in a proper non-sassy way). One day she came to school with a head full of fablous eyecatching curls, just like Olivia Newton John in the movie GREASE.It looked FAB! It'll grow out

my hair is relaxed, which has rendered it totally bone straight. When I want a little wave, after washing I'll twist or plait (braid) it into semi skinny braids or twosts, let them dry overnight and take them out in the morning. Finger comb to separate, with some sort or mud/putty/texturizing wax on your fingertips. This will keep it from getting frizzy and messy. I like Manipulator by Bed Head, it's in a little blue jar. Set the ends on small rollers/rods to keep them from being straight and looking messy. It also helps keep the twists/braids from unraveling.

You don't say how long or short your hair is. I'm American Indian so I have very straight hair. If I want waves, and I do quite often, I braid my hair after showering. I do this in the evening so my hair will be dry in the morning. Take out the braids and you'll have your waves.
I have long hair so one braid does me fine, but you could do 2.

My hair is really wavy and frizzy so i've never tried it, but i use a relaxer by optimum care to make my hair straight, and it works really well, so i think this product by them to make your hair curly or wavy. i think i will probably work since all the other products from the brand i use work well. otherwise, you could get a crimper and put crimps in your hair to make it as wavy as you would like.

My neice has the same problem. She wets her hair at night, braids it in small braids all over her head, then in the morning it is wavy when she takes the braids out. It might work even better if you put gel on it before you braid it.
Good luck.

You could go to a salon with a good reputation and get what is called a "body perm". For a shampoo and conditioner I would recommend using Nioxin or Redkin. They don't exactly put waves in your hair but they make it healthier and stronger.

after washing hair put some gel in it, divide hair into two or four sections and braid each section tight, tie at ends and let dry.
when you undo the braids it should be wavy!!

same here. what sort of works for me is if i braid it at night when its damp, but it cant be dripping wet or it will still be wet when you take the braid out in the morning. in the summer though, i dont even try getting it to do anything special. my ponytail holder is practically fused to my hair.
