i like this guy, and all my friends think i should go out with him, but idk the best way to find out if he still likes me or not...? How do i find out?

Just ask him in a friendly way if he says yes then good, sorted, if he says no then at least you'll know & can move on.
It isn't embarrassing & even if the guy isn't interested he will still be glad you asked, after all we all like to think we're fanciable.

Just casually start talking to him and then just say...
"Hey whatsyourname, do you wanna go see Pirates of the carribean with me this saturday?" then if he says yes, when you get there see if he tries stretching his arm out and puts it around you. if he does its a deffinite yes to him liking you. then in a couple of days call him and ask him out.
