yes, I believe it does. but I'm really not sure why that is.

but when the sense of smell goes, so goes the sense of taste.... that's why older people complain that nothing tastes right to them and put more seasoning on their food than young people.

Just like T ina said the parts are wearing down.

I see this in both of my parents and they are in their eighties.

Yes it can, and allergies, or smoking, sinus problems can all effect your sence of smell.
