Cardio/running. Doing crunches and situps dont help you lose your tummy any more than anything else. You cannot "spot" lose weight. It just doesnt work like that. When you burn calories, they come from all over your body, no matter what exercise you do. Situps and crunches will help build muscle in your stomach (that will be hidden under the fat), and will help burn some calories from all over your body, but they wont help you just lose fat in your stomach. Run 45 minutes or so a day at a decent pace, 5-6 days a week. BY decent pace, I mean a minumum of 6 miles an hour. Work up to it if you need to. Cut your calories to something like 1800 a day. The fat will start disappearing in no time. I also suggest doing some lifting, about 30 minutes work 3-4 times a week if you can, as the extra muscle you gain speeds up your metabolism and helps you keep the weight off.

i'm sure everyone has said to do some kind of cardio... but i don't think a lot of people read what you wrote under your question...
i'm a personal trainer, certified by the NCSF... and based on the cardio you do now, i doubt you're going to go out and jog or run for 45 minutes... right? you don't have to RUN to do cardio... you can find something else you like.... if you like walking, you can do that... if you like bike riding, you can do that... or play a sport... any kind of activity will do... at least 20 to 30 minutes a day. Obviously, the more you do, the more weight you'll lose, and more quickly as well.
But it's also very important to build up muscle as well. It is true that you cannot spot reduce a certain problem area, but doing sit ups, and any other kind of muscle-building exercise will certainly speed up the process..
muscle fuels your metabolism, so the more you have- the faster your metabolism is and the more calories you'll burn per day. You don't even have to go to a gym to build muscle...
Here is an example of a short workout you can do to tone up all over, and lose a little weight, too!
30 minutes of biking, walking, cardio of your choice
light stretching of the entire body
15 squats
15 push ups
25 crunches
15 chair dips
25 toe raises
10 lunges each leg
It shouldn't take you more than an hour to complete all of that, and you'll see and feel a big difference!
Hope that helps! Good luck ;)

Well the main goal to a healthy weight loss is the foods that we eat.We all know that exercise is essential in life, but we leave out the foods that we are eating.Like if you eat chocolate or any kinds of junkfood you will not lose your tummy, but if you eat more fruits and vegetables then eventually you will see the changes. And another key is walking, you can walk to the store,to your home,to the mall, just anywhere. And you won't even notice that you even walked because you are busy with other things. And running is the best.Nomatter where,in the gym,at home, outside,in the park. You can run and have fun doing it.You can buy a treadmill at home if you are too busy to go to the gym.But remember that health is more important than anything else in this world and it's tied with time.As time goes by our looks change because of the eating habits and the amount of exercises we produce.Of course we all need to try stronger and work harder.Because it really matters. These are the cites under to where you can go to find out more of the basic exercises and healthy foods.

I know you've heard this before and probably have read it in posted answers already but it's basic: proper food diet and exercise. And remember, it will take time, perseverance and patience. You didn't build the tummy overnight, right? Contrary to the sensational ads on TV, radio and the web, there is no miracle drug. It took time to add the weight and it will also take time to lose the weight. And in terms of food diet, try to stick with unprocessed foods and try to stay away from foods containing refined sugar. If you think about it, our bodies best understand how to process foods produced naturally. After switching to a low sugar, more natural foods diet, with the addition of moderate daily exercise, I was able to shed 10 pounds in the first 40 days. I know you can lose the tummy. Develop a diet and exercise routine and stick with it. Good Luck!

The size of your tummy has little or nothing to do with the strength of your abs, it is your body fat percentage that makes a "tummy." Any aerobic exercise and eating right should lead to a flatter stomach, if you want a defined stomach and already have a low body fat percentage, try leg lifts, where you lay o your back and hold your feet six inches above the ground for periods of thirty seconds, jackknives, where you lay on your back with your legs straight forward and your arms flat straight and behind your head and bring your feet and hand up till your arms and legs form a 90 degree angle with the floor. Don't bend your legs, or let your feet touch the ground between reps. Do these and sets of 15-10-5.

You can't lose your tummy unless you have diet food and do situps and crunches. The gym you do now (bike and stepper) is for legs, thighs and bottom only, none of them will help you get rid of your tummy. And I don't think you'll like yourself with superbe legs, but a fat tummy coming out of your jeans. So, do smth for tummy, also.

Aerobic exercise is the most effective way to get rid of excess pounds. What you are doing now is very good. However if you have reached a plateau and aren't loosing any pounds you need to up the amount of time you excercise. Everytime you notice you hit a plateau and you still want to lose more you will have to increase the amount of excercise. Make sure you are excercising for at least 30 minutes at a time at least 3 weeks a time. Also just take a look at your general diet and try to cutout excess calories.

using the cardio equipment you have is the best way to lose your "tummy".
crunches and sit-ups will tone the muscles there, but they will not help shed fat layers.
if you just do crunches and no cardio, then you will actually, notice your "tummy" grow out a little b/c you are strengthing and toning your abs UNDER the extra layers.
i would recommend doing 30-45 minutes of cardio 5-6 times a week and also some light weight training with a lot of reps and low weight. that way as you shed the pounds with the cardio you are also getting nice tone in your muscles and you won't have skinny, flabby arms! you'll have thin, toned arms, etc.
take care and stick with it!!!

you will have to do some crunches. But leg lifts work great! I did them when I was in military basic training.
Lay on the floor with legs together.
Place hands under butt(back support)
keep legs together while slowly lifting feet 1 to 2 feet off the floor (however high is comfortable for you) try different heights
hold for a few seconds
slowly lower feet to floor.
do 2 to 3 sets of these with as many as you can.
It works wonders, even after you have a baby!

There is a simple morning exercise that will create dramatic improvement in your shape without a lot of work.
First thing in the morning when you get up do this one minute routine ~
Lean against a wall so your butt, shoulders and head are touching the wall. Hold your arms out in front and join your hands (thumbs up).
Raise your right leg as high as it will move easily, breath in, and do a full body isometric (tighten all muscles).
Repeat 5 times with each leg.
Thats it ... very simple. Do it every day for a month and re-measure your waist.
Why it works
This is a self enforcing of correct breathing that encourages you to have better posture and to breath properly. This gives you more energy through out the day so you are more active.
best wishes

Hold your stomach muscles in. Hold the muscles in and hold for as long as you can then let go. If do this you will train the muscles from the inside to out without having all the effort of exercising
If you want a curvy waist then stand with your legs slightly apart and do the twist, from side to side (need a video really to show the correct way to do without doing damage to your spine) it's so easy to damage your spine by doing excercises wrong.
I held my stomach muscles in immediately after having my kids (7) no other real excersising so always believed it was the way I did it that gave me a flat stomach.
I have never been a big eater but if your food intake is contributing toward weight then it does require will power to get to where you wanna be.
Good luck, but don't over do it. I gave myself a year to drop from size 14 (weight after having kids) to my original size, and it was about a year and I did get back to where I wanted to be.....I looked like a summo after having my kidss so if I can do it so can you!!!
