You need to feel free to talk to your instructors. They may think that you are doing well and that your right where you need to be. Alot of people try to rush martial arts and then they get frustrated and burned out.
Take your time and enjoy yourself. It takes a while to teach your body a whole new way to move. Talk to the instructors. They are there to help you and they want you to succeed.
Good Luck & HAVE FUN.

All it takes is self-discipline and determination!!!
Kickboxing like many martial arts requires total commitment in order to gain results. I don't think that you could learn anything useful from a kickboxing dvd or video as you really need to actually be practicing the techniques on your own.
A large punching bag will definitely be a good investment, because it will allow you to practice at home or even to destress.
Goodluck with the training. Just out of interest, i am a 3rd Dan Aikido Student...so i kinda know what i'm blabbering about...most of the time :)

As with most martial arts, becoming a better competitor is down to hard work and graft.
My daughter started kickboxing 2 and a half years ago, and is now a national and international champion. she is still only 11 years of age.
Her outlook is that if you train hard enough, you can become the best.
As with all sports, you must start somewhere, so why not the beginning!!!!
Hope this helps

Try Kathy Smiths kickboxing DVD. I don't know how accurate the moves are, but it will help tone your body so you can more easily do your classes.

I used to do kickboxing... for like 5 years... get a punching bag... a big one and put it in your basement.. when you're mad, go crazy on it... believe me, this helps...

You need to go more often, but if you can't, practice at home everything you learn and do lots of stretching, shadow boxing and kicks.
