If you can, you should. I took my first PSAT in the 9th grade to see how I was gonna do. You have to be in the 11th grade to qualify for the national merit scholarships, however. It is a great opportunity to see what you know. If you take it now and then once again before the 11th grade you should be all set. It is not that hard, and each time you take it, your grade should rise little by little. Then, in junior year, when you take your SAT's, you will look like a freakin' genius.

Take teh PSATs. But there's really nothing you can do to prepare for them besides knowing the test format. Now there's a writing part, right? E! Poor you =( Good like with them. I'm sure you'll do great! I mean, you're already "Looking forward" to them so I'm sure you'll rock them when the real time comes.

You can take it if you want. You don't need to take the SAT's untl you are a junior or so in high school. I prepared for about 3 weeks in advance, it is different for everyone.
I would not stress a lot about it now, you are ONLY in 8th grade!
