Like any red blooded male, I like nothing better than twelve beers and a bottle of refeshing whisky on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night and not only that I also enjoy a spot of driving. I regualrly drink and drive and have been doing so for many years now, I've never crashed my car, I've never killed anyone, infact I have never caused any harm what so ever while pissed up and driving.

So what's the problem? As I've l have aready said; I've never caused any harm while driving while drunk and I've driven home in some messes, believe me!

The following story may or may not be true:
"I'm drunk, I'm driving like a black, just got my licence back."
*sirens*
- Good Evening Sir, may I see some ID please?
"Look at this photograph, everytime I knew it makes me laugh."
- Well I'm glad that you think this is funny. Do you know why I stopped you?
"The signs that we missed."
- Uh, yeah you missed a stop sign back there any reason why?
"It's hard to think when you're breathing in my ear.'
- What? Have you been, drinking?
"To the bottom of every bottle."
- I'm gonna have to ask you to step out of the car, Sir.
*door opens*
"On these hands and knees I'm crawling on..."
- Please, get up, Sir.
"Never knew we'd wind up like this."
- Yeah, yeah whatever, watch your head you drunk..."
"Oh God."
*vomits*
- Oh, that's it you're going to the drunk tank.
*sirens again*
"Good-bye. Good-bye."

Get the picture? Yeah. That can be you....

drinking and driving is definately a bad thing. Just because you havent hurt anyone yet does not mean it wont happen eventually. Most accidents are caused by drunk drivers and most deaths on the road are caused by drunk drivers. Most cases, even when drugs are in the system, they find alcohol in their system. You, no offense, are human just like everyone else, so one day you may have an accident. Think of it in this manner. Would you want your son or daughter on the road with someone drinking and driving or in a wreck at the hands of someone else? Or even killed for that matter. My cousin finally suffer serious reprocutions for drinking and driving and the whole family was glad. He was just one of the lucky ones not to die or kill someone due to it.

I am society, and I don't care. I find social interactions can sometimes be enhanced by alcohol, but that doesn't mean they are inexorably tied together. Like you, I don't go with the guys for a beer after work. I've got better things to spend my money on, and don't like the idea of driving impaired. If it has been a long day, I might have a bourbon when I get home.

Ask yourself this question again when you get up from the pavement near your car. You look around to find a mother and father frantically looking for their two children. One they find safe in the car, the other is in pieces on the ground. Ask yourself that question while you watch the parents scream and cry with agony over this innocent child that you just killed. Then ask yourself that question when you are behind bars every day until your 20 year sentence is up, and after you get out, you have no life, family, or self-respect, and you have to live the rest of your life with regret knowing you're a murderer. Get the point? It may not have happened yet, but it will.

Hey fellah, you're out of your mind! Drinking and driving is not acceptable, no matter how little you've had to drink. I used to drink and drive until three years ago. I had been out sampling some homebrew with my mate, we must have consumed about ninteen pints of the brew he made and boy, it was strong. I remember being in his house one minute then a few hours later I was lying in the middle of a field of cows and a burning car only a few feet away from me. I eventually found out that I had decided to drive home so I took what I thought was my car, I crashed through a fence and in to the field of cows hit one of the beasts and the car caught fire from a burning cigarrette I dropped on to the seat. I woke up covered in cow muck and a burning car. Luckily for me that was my mate's car so mine was okay, all I had to pay was £200 for vetinary bills.

I got away lightly but you may not, the next time you drink and drink it could be your car you write off and not someone elses. Drinking and driving is a mug's game and you remember that.

Are you serious? You may think you won't cause any harm, and maybe you won't, but still - it's better to be safe than sorry! What if you did get in an acident? You could lose your life or kill someone else. Would you really like to live with that guilt hanging over you? I hope that you get caught the next time you drink and drive and get thrown in jail!

You have been very lucky. With driving with alcohol, on your breath. if some kid runs out in front of you, and you were not able to stop in time, (even sober drivers would not have been able to stop), you would be in a lot of trouble with the law. Not to mention if you killed someone, how would that make you feel? What if you killed your sisters kid? Your brothers son? or some kids mom, just having the beer on your breath would make you at fault.. Its a stupid thing to do, And there should be no doubt in your mind that you would not drive with alcohol in your car and on your breath... Please for the safety of everyone find something else that's fun and entertaining to do. I mean is it really all that fun to drive around drinking booze? If that's your version of fun, you need to get off your beer and out of your car for a while and experience the thrills of the world....

I totally understand where your coming from....one of my biggest problems is getting totally wasted and then driving myself home....Ive always justified it by saying ive never crashed...and ive never hurt anyone.....but it still is so dangerous.....there have been times ive driven home after many drinks and the next morning have no recolection of the drive home....thats where it turns bad....I dont remember if i stopped at every red light or stop sign....I have no idea if i was driving straight or all over the road....once i stopped and got cigg's and didnt even know i did it till a few days later when i checked my bank account and there was a debit for a pack of cigg's that i bought one night when i was completely trashed....I dont even know what i did with them either.....so im the same as you....when i drink I like to drive....i like to go home and be in my own bed....I always see it as ok because ive always made it home in one piece, but its pretty bad that i black out and drive home....because i honestly beleive its luck that has gotten me home all these years and not my drunk driving skills :o).....I dont allow myself to drive home now after drinking that much....If i have a few drinks ill drive, but if i get that bad i wont because i know one day i wont be so lucky....and I know its more out of fear of getting pulled over if im not driving straight and then getting arrested....I dont want to risk my life and even more importantly someone else's life.....I dont look down upon you for doing what you do....because I know...Ive been there, but hopefully one day you will see that its really not a good idea.....the reason you feel like it's ok right now is because you have never had anything happen....but if for some reason one day you do get in an accident or pulled over I really think you'll have a change of heart.....just be carefull :o)

I truly believe that some people can drive while drunk. I have friends that drive better after a few beers than when they are sober. However, you also have people that can't drive when they are sober, let alone after a few beers. Imagine that ditsy blonde driving the SUV next to you while talking on her cell phone and putting on lipstick... now picture her with 3 dirty martinis in her system. Maybe there should be a drunk driving test to see who can do it and who can't...

U may not see it as a problem yet, because u haven' done any damange. But one day you'll be a lot more drunk then u already r and before u know it your in a car crash. Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it's not going to happen.
