Saarloos Wolfhounds were actually bred from German shepherds and domestic wolves. They're an actual breed, not a hybrid. Not very common though.
Common ones are the Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, German Shepherd (in silver or sable), or an American Eskimo (little white wolf?) . You may also be thinking of an Akita.
