Some skydivers and BASE-jumpers use something called a "squirrel suit", that's a jumpsuit with fabric panels sewn between the legs and between the arms and legs. They jump out of an airplane or off a tall cliff/building/tower and by spreading out their arms and legs, form little wings that let them glide pretty far, and even catch thermals for extra lift if they're lucky. Eventually they have to pop the parachute when they get too low, but it's probably the closest thing to flying without a plane humans can do until we figure out magic.

Not quite Peter Pan, but Hang-gliding, and Para-sailing will get you pretty close. It’s kind’a like flying in a dream. It’s quiet, smooth and there’s nothing to obstruct your view. Only problem is it’s not that easy to do, so you do have to take lessons. The gliders aren’t cheep, a decent used one for under $1000, but that’s nothing compared to other flight. Sorry, no Tinker Bell, I always thought she was cute.

Think happy thoughts. Either that or get a glider, but you'll still need a plane to get you high enough. Hang-gliding with a speedboat also works.
