You need to be at least 16 to recieve a private pilots license, and you need to have a type 3 medical certicicate, which certifies that you arent retarded or half dead.
The cost is about $80 an hour for at least 35 hours here in northwestern michigan college, but I have seen way way higher numbers around. the average is about $110 an hour.
If you want to rent an aircraft, it is usually at least $50 and hour without fuel. They burn at least 5 gallons of $3.80 a gallon 100 octane gas per hour. Our cessna 172sp's burn about 10 per hour.
If you cant afford that, write a new question about ultralight replacements for full sized aircraft.

that is too late to grow to be an airline pilot (the mandatory retirement age is sixty 5), even if it isn't in any respect too late to get a private pilot's license. see you later as your wellbeing is okay to bypass the classic medical exam for the pilot's license, you could fly. in case you won't be able to bypass the medical, you could get a interest pilot's license, see you later as you've a motive force's license. even if, you won't be able to get this license after failing the medical, nor are you able to get it in case you already know you would fail the medical. The loophole is that see you later as you have not failed a medical and believe your self to be in ok wellbeing to fly, you could get the license. It has many extra regulations than a private pilot's license, even if, so commonly people bypass for the PPL till they imagine the medical will be an situation. the cost is many times countless thousand money. you do not favor coverage in line with se, yet once you lease an plane that is insured, there will be criteria that the coverage employer needs you to satisfy earlier you fly. an same is authentic in case you purchase your own plane and decide to insure it (that's a strong theory). some airports or different community jurisdictions would require you to be insured, also.
