It is illegal to deface currency in the US - meaning make it unusable. Burning would accomplish this. The exception to this is when the Treasury burns money after it is no longer usable.

However, if you burn money, at least if it's yours, you're the one who loses out. Well, I guess the taxpayers lose a minute amount too, to replace that money into circulation.

In the U.S.A. and Canada it's a FEDERAL OFFENSE to damage money. Money is not your property, it's the property of the government, we're only aloud to use it. So yeah, those guys who burn $100 bills to light up a cigar could be jailed!

Umm not that I know of................BUT if you would be so Kind as to send it to me I will send you some that I dont mind you burning, it has some board game names on it but you should get that same burn out of it. Damm why the hell would you be so damm stupid to burn money.

yes it is actually illegal to burn money. money is property of the u.s. gov't (like your mailbox). that is why when money is taken out of circulation the gov't confiscates as much as they can from banks and then destroy it. instead of burning your money, please consider giving it to charity. you'll help people in need and not contribute to global warming.
