The scientific method is one of the best ways to determine what is real and what is not. If there is evidence of a thing or if an event is repeatable under similar circumstances, then it is most likely real. Perception is fallible as it is subject to the filtration of personal biases, beliefs, and other things that can be quite irrational.

The scientific method is the best way yet that mankind has found to distinguish between what is real (ie confirmed in the real world through experiment) and what might/could be etc. Many people do not like this because science reveals that man is not at the centre of the universe (literally or figuratively) and hence they prefer to retreat into all manner of superstitious nonsense that makes them feel special and important. The fact that this is delusion doesn't bother them at all for they would rather live a lie and feel good about it than grow up and face the truth that, sadly, we aren't anything special in the greater scheme of things. When it comes to a conflict between reason and psychology, for most people, psychology wins every time.

Everything is real. Everything tangible that is. If it can be touched, smelled, seen, etc.. it is real.
Our perception taints everything. Leaves are green because of our perception. Sugar is sweet because we percieve it that way.
Therefore everything that can be percieved is real?
But where does that leave emotions? Ghosts? God?
It seems that somethings have to be believed to be percieved. But does that make them any less real...
I fear you have opened an incredible can of worms.
Is reality verified by perception. Or is it the other way around. There are so many theories. Some say God is the only reality, or numbers are the only reality, or that there is no reality. I couldn't begin to list them all.

You mean to say decipher I think.
Well, my friend would say take an acid trip for 12 hours, when you come back you know it's real! Otherwise, one might say, to prove existentialism of self, turn the lights on and off, is it a dream? There is a great animated film on IFC called, "Waking Life", I strongly recommend it. The philosophies are worth it. Love is real. Love is not. I think we might all be living behind a glass wall that we don't notice and we'll never know that it was all perception until we escape all of this.
However, I'm not promoting suicide to check. =)

I think that this is impossible. Perception is truth for each individual. However, you can do independant research on a variety of beliefs and opinions. Take what rings true to you in your gut feeling and leave the rest. You are still left with your perception though.

Hi! Everything perceived is real to some extent/context because there is energy behind ALL thoughts.I think, therefore I am......Energy follows thought, thought is energy. A broad-range of reality is in the eye of the one who can look upon all possibilities without fear.We only limit ourselves through beliefs and what we'd rather not perceive to be real.We are limitless because we are co-creators with GOD.We can create our own reality only if we dare to believe in it and ourselves.

I would define reality as follows: reality is everything you believe and accept as true. Therefore, reality is subjective, different for each one of us. You perceive matter through your senses. Once perceived, you decide to accept or reject your perception of things. If you accept it and hold it as true, it becomes your reality. If you reject it, it's only a perception.
The same process holds for spiritual beliefs. If you believe it, then it's true and becomes your reality. If you reject it, it's a meaningless perception.

Dude you are really running down the rabbit hole. Your working with quantum physics here. What we perceive is what we learn to perceive. You mention Jesus who is and was a part of god which we all are a part of. That is why we are all brothers and sisters. Because we all hold a piece of God. A movie for you to see. " What the bleep do we know" rent it check it out. OPEN your mind to the possibilities.

When I'm awake, and can tell I'm awake, I reach out and touch it, embrace it if you will. I embrace changes; I can tell those are real.
Perception for me is feelings. A lot of my feelings twoards someone are just preception and prejudgement. I'm really bad at that.

You can't. There is no way for you to know that all this isn't just a very vivid dream. You can't tell if I am a real person or a chat bot. You can't tell if God is real unless he comes down and proves himself to you.
