Absolutely..it makes it easier to get the husk off if your are multi-tasking and trying to do other things for supper..You can microwave or boil or grill corn..here are a couple of suggestions since you don't cook alot..
Boil on stove in large pan (corn cleaned) for about 15 minutes and turn your corn in the pan if only one side is exposed at a time..
On the grill..shuck your corn until you have one leaf on to cover the cob..clean the silk off and clean with a damp paper towel..on a gas grill put corn down for 4 minutes x 4 sides..corn is sweet and has the grill flavor
You can soak your corn (pull down leaves (husks) and remove silk, then soak for about 15 minutes and grill on a coal grill (charcoal or gas) for about 1/2 hour (cover with top) delicious.
Micro wave corn (cleaned) in a microwave safe bowl filled with some water, place corn and microwave on high (if you have revolving plate) for about 15 minutes..if you don't have a revolving place turn every 4 minutes for 4 turns for a total of 16 minutes..drain off water..enjoy with butter and salt
Some folks use butter or salt as seasoning but you can also use different spices, parmesean cheese, flavored butter including garlic, salsa, and herbs such as basil and oregano..what sounds good..if you have left over corn the cut the corn off the cob and place in bowl or zip lock bag..great served next day..don't leave on cob after cooked because the corn will taste cobby..

Yes. Although it would be safe to store corn at room temperature for a few hours, it is much better to refrigerate it to prevent the sugars in the corn from converting to starch. (Your refrigerator should be below 40 degrees F.) If you need to store it for longer periods, it is better to leave it unhusked and husk it when you're ready to cook it.
That said, for the best-tasting corn, cook it as soon as possible after picking. Once it's been picked, the sugars in the corn turn to starch very quickly. To reduce the amount of time between picking and cooking, it's best to buy corn directly from the grower rather than from a supermarket. Also, look for supersweet varieties that have been bred to stay sweet longer.

I always husk the corn and then just leave it in a dish on the kitchen counter covered with paper towels until I'm ready to cook them. Usually about 3 or 4 hours. They taste better if you don't refrigerate them but it wouldn't hurt them. It just takes some of the flavor away.

shouldn't be a problem, but there are several better ways to cook corn on the cob, they soaking it water for as long as you were going to fridge it, then pull pack the husks a little rub it with butter and salt it, put the husks back, and grill it for about 15 minutes turning it every so often. the water makes it juicy, and the butter and salt make it real buttery.
