I think the best thing to do is having to sacrafice a bad day between you and your dog for the sake of her ear.

I have a german shepherd who's been my best friend since I was a young boy and we may have to put her down because of her ear mite infection. We've been going through the same thing for over a year and now it's gotten so bad she has gangreen.

Please spare your dog the pain and perhaps the same fate that mine is facing. You can't let her ear get worse or else she will have an internal infection like my dog does and I know how much dog owner hate putting their dogs to sleep.

I'm on the search for a better treatment because I don't believe that this is the best treatment but at least prevent your dog from getting worse. It's worth getting in a fight.

I would have someone come with you and hold its head down while petting him. Then you would calmly lift up his ear put the medicine in and if he wants to bite then keep on kinda making his head go to the ground and keep petting him. If he bites don't be afraid to yell at him and say NO! While you put the medicine in make sure you keep saying good dog and its ok. After he is done make sure to always give him a treat so he knows he did a good job.

My dog did the same thing, the easiest way to put the medicine in your dogs ear, would be to hide the medicine, and go love on your dog. then when your all lovie dovie, then pin the dogs head down, not hard, just enough to hold the head down, so you can put the meds in. then after you get the meds in, rub the ear so the meds get in to the inner ear, ti be most effective. love on your dog, and tell her/him, that they are a good boy/girl. the reason why your dog hides from you is because they think that their in trouble. its normal, and they will get over it. good luck.

I groom a shih tzu for a person this dog hates being groomed and hates it when I work on his ears. She has gotten some meds from her vet that she give him before he comes.

I still have to muzzle him and also I find if you have some one hold a towel over his face. That way he can't see what is comeing. This has realy help me to work with this shih tzu.

You need to buy a muzzle retainer to keep the little darling from biting you.

Have someone help you. Talk to her nicely through the whole process and make sure to give her treats when you are done.
