You should not have one; "cuz im know nothin" speaks volumes about your education and probable ability to care for a baby.
1. Have a good steady stream of income. Baby's need a lot of expensive care.
2. Have a support system, monogamous partner, family and friends are necessary for the health of both you and your baby.
3. Wait until you are not a baby yourself. This is 18 years of commitment and effort. Men do not develop mentally until the mid 20's.
It is the most rewarding and difficult thing you will ever do. The cute baby time is over fast. Then the work begins and you are the one that the baby wholly depends on.

Babies are the most beautiful creation. When a baby is born it brightens every that's around life. A baby needs mad love and attention. Just because they are babies that doesn't mean that they don't feel and sense everything that surrounds them. When you're sad, angry, upset or crying a baby feels all that. That most important thing about a baby is that even if you didn't plan one from happening, to have one is to be sure of the great responsibilities that lay ahead. Secure that baby's future from the moment it is created. And if things don't work out between the two of you, always love that baby. After all it's not the baby's fault someone brung him/her to this life. Oh and by the way bout that breastfeeding, U can bottle feed. And if mom's still around and willing she can freeze the breast milk for lata feedings.

First, get a good book or books to start off with (like American Academy of Pediatrics Guide to the First Five Years).
Then read it and keep it handy. Babies have some very unique needs, and that book is fantastic.
Also, use your intuition - if you feel like something is wrong with the baby, or if something is making him/her happy, then you are probably right.
Have fun, stay calm. Babies can sense if you are stressed out, so relax.
NEVER leave a baby alone or unattended. You will be amazed how fast they learn to roll (off of beds, changing tables...) and they put EVERYTHING in their mouths. Always use a carseat.
Every baby is a little different, and every parent's experiences are a little different, so take all advice with a grain of salt.
Babies love to be snuggled and talked to. Good luck!

Don't be afraid to be goofy! Babies love funny noises. If they're little little babies make sure you support their heads, don't use sudden motions, that would harm them.
If a baby cries, it's usually one of the following: tired, hungry, poopy/wet, teething, in pain, or bored/frustrated. Remember, they can't talk yet, so that's all they can do to "Explain" their situation. Know the number for the peditrician.
Talk to them, narrate your day. Go to the store and describe things, talk about colors, about how many there are of something, when you get in the car, say something like, "This car is red, it has four doors, look, you're going in the back door," talk about using the seat belt and being safe, and just talk to the baby like she understands. Babies understand a lot more than they can convey. Babies love being touched, tickled, stroked, rub their little chubby baby arms, and tickle their toes. Sniff their feet and tell them it smells like feet, sniff their fingers and tell 'em it smells like fingers. Touch her ears, and say, "I like your ears." Use the baby's name a lot, and use a little nick-name, like cutie pie, baby girl, sweatpea. Babies love the sound of a soothing voice.
Certain things you never do: leave babies unattended!!! Don't scream, yell at or shake a baby. If you ever feel overwhelmed or upset, and you're alone with a baby, call someone right away to come over and relieve you. Make sure doors, cabinets, stairs and electical outlets are all secured. Don't ever feed a little baby solid foods. When they're bigger, watch out for things like bread or cheeses that can mat up on the tops of their mouths or be stored in cheeks, and then be a choking hazard.
Marvel at how smart the baby is. :) Tell the baby how adorable, cute, funny, loveable she is. Use positive words.

Relax and bond, the baby won't judge you if you don't get the hang of being a parent right away so it doesn't have to be perfect. Make sure mom, dad and baby get lots of rest and don't over or under dress them, nothing makes a wee one crankier. Sunscreen in the summer too, don't forget, and when in doubt just snuggle a crazy crying baby in your arms with a fresh bottle, chances are they'll be sleeping in no time.

Be there. When the baby wakes up every two hours to be fed, get up & feed him-don't count on Momma to do it all or you will miss out.
Be there when the baby starts crawling, walking, talking. Just be there. You don't have to buy the kid the most expensive toys or clothes. You just have to be there.
And when the kid poops-clean it up right away. The longer it sits, the more it stinks.

They need to be touched. Reports have shown baby can die without being touch. This is the best advice.
