I just witnessed a video showcasing the genocide of Hmong people. It is very tragic that people do this to other people. This is a tuff question I ask, but I wonder what people think about such horrific results of evil in the human capaicity. Answers that come of too silly or funny are not welcomed... humanity is a serous matter!

Your initial question really touches on a much bigger question why do humans have a relatively consistent set of values and morals, including the fact they tend to care about other humans?

For me this is one of the reasons I'm inclined to believe in a God, random genetics would not likely cause such a consistent sense of values.

You're question about genocide really comes down to the question of why do some people not seem to act in accordance with these common values that humans seem to share?

There are many possible answers to this question but I think the simplest is that there is a discrepancy between the imperfect nature of our world and the perfection our conscience seems to desire.

Why genocide? I can't imagine why. I'd love to hear the root cause of it so we could try to target the cause and abolish it! I believe one thing - people are like sheep and, if left to their own FEARS, the majority will follow the most evil of people and do the most evil of things.

Why do some people stand against the tide and stand up for other human beings? They're leaders, they've CHOSEN to sacrifice their own safety, security, etc. for the right decision. I don't think any of us know what we'd do until we're in the situation. I pray I'd be a leader.

Because people are brought up to believe that they are superior to others and for survival they must always put their need first. It is sad but the most successful people are often the ones with little feelings towards others.
