There are too many other religions than Judaism and its two off shoots.

Which school did you attend?

Commenting on the teachings of Christian missionaries as Plotinus, Clement, Gregory, Augustine and the like, Dean Inge observes: "They are the ancient religion of the Brahmins masquerading in the clothes borrowed from the Jewish, Gnostic, Manichaen and Neo-Platonic allegories. That is why Mahatma Gandhi told Romain Rolland in Switzerland on his way back to India from the Round Table Conference (1911) that Christianity is an echo of the Indian religion and Islam is the re-echo of that echo."

Jules Michelet (1789-1874) French writer, the greatest historian of the romantic school, affirms this: " Follow the migration of mankind from East to West along the sun's course and along the track of the world's magnetic currents; observe its long voyage from Asia to Europe, from India to France...."

they don't, necessarily.
Hindu is from India (which is close, I guess), but things like Dao, Zen, and Shinto are eastern.
Also, many religions exist other than the ones we in developed nations are aware of. Certainly most non-industrialized peoples have invented some sort of religion (Aztecs, Incans, Aborigines, African tribes, etc) of their own.
As far as major world religions are concerned, one might posit that many religions originate in the middle east because that is where civilization first took hold, meaning they were the first people to be able to write down their beliefs.

They don't. Hinduism, Shamanism, Buddhism, Scientology, Wicca...there are many religions that did not originate in the middle east.

The reason these religions predominate is because western culture has taken over the world. The reasons for this are many and many of them are laid out well in Jared Diamond's "Guns, Germs, and Steel".

They don't. Hinduism and Buddhism come from India. Shinto, Taoism, Zen and others come from China and Japan. Kemeticism comes form Egypt. Dodeckathesim and Hellinamosis (sp?) come from Greece. Wicca comes from England. All regions have religions that come from them.
