That depends on what kind of software you want to develop. In terms of years of experience, I would you will need 5 to 7 years of experience. If you want web related software, you will need ASP, ASP .NET, C#, ColdFusion, PHP, Java, JSP, Javscript, CSS, HTML, SQL, XML, ...etc. I am listing out the possible language that you need but what you really need depends on the company that you will be working for. However, you want game programming, military software programming, ...etc; their required skill sets would be different.

Good communication skills, strong analytical capabilities, excellent programming ability and highly-motivated spirit. Must be willing to work long hours and must be highly focussed.
