Pediatricians are doctors.
However, specialists generally make more than primary care doctors. (i.e. pediatricians, general practitioners, internal medicine doctors) The rarer the specialty, the more money you make. Especially since you have the option of not taking insurance plans and having patients pay you up front.

If you're interested in making money then becoming a doctor - any kind of doctor - may not be worth the price of admission. Doctors spend years learning medicine upward of 15 to 20 years. Many company presidents, CEO and executives make more than doctors and spend less time getting there, too.

A pediatrician *is* a doctor.
Specialized doctors make more on an individual basis, but general practicioners usually have more patients.
