He has some savings and has been looking at training course's it is hard to know if he will be ripped off or not, the one that looked most professional split the course into diffrent sections and charged about £300 per section which is over about two days they also supplied a basic tool kit, but to complete the course would cost just over £1000.
Are there any locksmiths on here, how long did it take you to train is it realistic he can learn enough in say 8 days to be able to trade as a mobile locksmith or should he be looking else where for training, how much can he expect to earn when qualified,he is so excited about doing it he is like a kid at christmas so i dont wana be negative about it but just wana make sure he is going down the right route.

He should contact several local locksmiths and ask for their opinion. Ask them how they got started, and would they be more likely to hire someone who has gone through that training.

I can't say whether that program is worthwile, but any good career requires an investment upfront. If your boyfriend starts making $5,000 more a year than he is now, that $1000 investment doesn't seem so bad, right?

In Liverpool, just ask anyone on a street corner to open a lock and they will gladly show him how to do it !
