OK, first go to Control panel (Start\Control panel).
->choose add/ remove applications.
->scroll down untill you find "Windows Media Player 10"
->click on the "change or Remove"- button
Windows asks if you want to restore the older version
that has been in your system
->click "yes"
Windows boots..
->now you can use the older version of MP or download and install Windows MP
10.

Download Media Player 11. I know it's beta, but I haven't had any problems with it. Only drawback is there isn't a radio player, but there are other options for that.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling. Go to Control Panel - Ad/Remove Prgorams and do the uninstall first, then reinstall once again.
