I think I know why Christianity spread, it has to do with why
europeans spread to colonize, and these europeans were christians.

Farming started in the fertile crescent like 8000 years ago, which
is where iran is, and this was like cows and wheat.

Now, the farming is able to go east and west on Earth faster than it
does North and south, cause of sunlight, etc. and you all are smart
enough to know about genetics.

So the farming spread to Europe fast, as did Christianity, because
as you all know the good emporer of Rome in 325 or 344 or whatever
pirated Christianity to unify the empire, and thats why the "bible"
became "official".

Farming was in Mexico like 2000 years ago but again, north south was
hard and it didn't get far,
Farming was in Africa in the North, but it didn't spread to the
south really at all,
And there wasn't much farming in Australia, there was a little, but
not enough, and the people came to Australia and the America's late
in the development of human evolution, and they werent scared of
animals, so they killed all the potential animals for domestication,

Since the European Christians had a lot of farming with a lot of
animals, they built up immunities to diseases that the animals
had, for example the bubonic plauge killed like half of europe, but
the survivors were immunue, geneticalls,

they had the advantadge of guns too,

now,
asia also had farming you see, pigs and rice in fact,
they were smart people,
they actually discovered america in 1421, but when the ships got
back a bunch of muslims took over china and didn't give a **** about
science (these muslims were stupid muslims, there have been
scientific muslims in history)

asia had guns too, the chinese, at this time also

Now, The Europeans went to the Americas, Africa, and the Australia,

with them they brought their guns and their germs,

so they killed lots of the native americans, australians, and
africans,

thus christianity is a dominant religion on planet earth today,

notice that christianity only in recent decades has spread to asia,
and even this is still a small minority

So all these people who say they know their God is right cause of
the Bible, well, its only by the fate of latitude of Germany and
SPain and France and England being that of Iran and Iraq and
bringing farming there that Europe was put into a position to take
by guns and germs the majority of the Earth, and not because of
anything inherintly good with Christianity itself.

The Muslims in China that took over in 1421, after the ships left to
circumnavigate the globe, its not like they took over a Christian
government, so don't think its destiny here either that muslims
took over and this is why china didn't take over.

Muslims were at two points in their history great.

Between 800 and 1100 they had great advances in science in Northern
Africa. But because of some wars the people in charge said no more
science no more thinking about the Qur'an just believe it when we
say kill the infidels.

Then again in the late 1800s muslims in Egypt debated evolution and
were very scientific.

But then they got all mad about Israel, etc. and follow this on down
to the United States putting troops in Saudia Arabia in 1990, this
pissed off Bin Laden, and then he started attacking America,

Sept. 11, etc.

It is important to note that muslims took US Navy sailors in the
late 1700s, and Thomas Jefferson said why do you do this we never
attacked you,
the ambassodor to Tripoli said because our Qur'an gives us
permission to make slaves of non-muslims.

When Thomas Jefferson became President he sent in the marine corps
to get rid of that government, since making Americans slaves was
unnacceptable.

The Marine core song, "from the shores of tripoli"

That's an interesting theory. Yes, Christianity could have spread partially due to farming, but remember that Christains also believed in spreading their faith abroad. So in some regards it was a quest. Thats why there are missionaries in different countries even today. I like the Tripoli note of history. One thing that needs to be noted was that Charles Darwin himself was a Christian and did not even believe his own theory was fact. He believed that it could be a possibility and therefore posed his theory. I think in large parts, the spread of Christianity is due to population growth and the culture surrounding that population growth. Benjamin Franklin made many astute predictions concerning the United States and population growth and how the US would become more powerful than Great Britain due to the higher rate of population growth. I believe eventually you will see Islam slowly but surely take over Christianity. The population growth rate is higher and that faith does not allow other faiths to be introduced into the population as easily Christianity does.

Remember what the first commandment in the Bible was, "Be fruitful and multiply." In early US history, it was nothing for a family to have 8 kids, that number has dramatically decreased.

Interesting. But there's not a lot of proof to support the 1421 theory (I've heard about it); sounds cool though, huh? The world's quite a place.

Oh whoops, not an atheist. My bad.

Why would christians want to avert their eyes? It's just a theory. If more people read about other theories, other ways of life, they'd be more enriched in life, knowing more about different points of view in order to create a better view on life.

So, uh, believing has nothing to do with history, and what other people have done in the name of God, because everyone does everything in His name: terrible things, good things, etc. So it doesn't really matter, does it? Well to me, it doesn't even matter. I'm tired of these stupid questions.

Kobe!

Edit: There's been farming everywhere! Well I guess pastoral herding would've been the main way of life in desert regions. Oh well. Haha, I guess a lot of christians have thrown in their commentary. I read the whole thing too.

There's no point in arguing with fanatical unthinking christians, muslims, and atheists. I've never met a Jew like that.

first of all Constantine legalized Christianity (Edict of Milan 313ce) just because he allowed it doesn't mean he was one of them, then on his deathbed the Arian bishop Eusebius of Nicomedia said "quick throw some water on him before he dies" okay so now he's "baptized" this gives the church fathers some ammo to work with, but christianity was a very bitter pill to swallow, the popes from this time were sons of very influential families, Silvester is said to have dispossessed the desposyni (family of Jesus Christ) a lot was happening in Christianity around this time, Jerome was assigned the task of putting together a bible, Canon laws are written, tables are turning, now it's not the christians that are being persecuted it's the people who refused to embrace this new religion who were murdered, as heretics, and as for Thomas Jefferson a quote "The clergy converted the simple teachings of Jesus into an engine for enslaving mankind and adulterated by artificial constructions into a contrivance to filch wealth and power to themselves...these clergy, in fact, constitute the real Anti-Christ." and the Treaty of Tripoli Article 11 states: "The Government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion."

Christianity spread not because it was true, but because of these reasons:

It honored all people, including the lower people, men and women, and people of all races. It taught that all people were equal.

It gave the people the idea of choice. Despite the "you should...", you still are told that anything you do is by the freewill of you.

That is how it spread in Europe.
And Europe, being advanced after the Renaissance thanks to competition, did, indeed spread it to the Americas and Australia. But that was because it was Europe. And a place like Europe seems like the place for ideas like that to spread.

I am Christian and I wasn't offended. The times and 'farming' you speak of... that was all desert land. There was no way to farm any crops in those areas.
Christianity spread much like all the religions in the beginning, from be cast out.
From the beginning of recorded time, each religion had their downfalls, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam and Christianity. They all had to find new homes... therefore expanding their territory, and modifying their religion creating sub groups.

I think that you would do a lot better to keep it shorter, and more focused. There are probably some good points in there, and some that are way off the mark, and if you ask people to give their opinions of all of that taken together, you won't get much that's useful. Try being more concise.

How about this - maybe FATE's name is Jehovah!!

long one, I got lazy.
But I like the way you think. I'm a christian, by the way. You used the word fate. You say that alot of things just happened to go right for christians, that's why we're the dominant religion.
And you're right. Things tend to go right when God is planing it.
