Sure, right now Jesus is being reduced to entertainment value, but what will take the place of Jesus in the future? All religions start with certain ideas, then over time, they develop a founder figure, mythical or semi-real, who is credited with those ideas. The stories and myths created about the founder figure become the vehicle of transmission to others, with the stories sometimes obscuring the ideas themselves. Maybe in 2000 years there will be a religion with Bill Gates as the founder or maybe Jim Morrison?

Interesting assertion but its not much of a question... Do you believe in religion and still have this point of view? Blind belief seems so stupid when seen from an outside prospective because it was used to describe or explain things that we don't understand. That's probably why its humorous to read about past rituals and belief.

Not necessarily...A religion's longevity depends on a lot of factors. since a lot of ancient religions were confined to a certain country or culture, they died easily. But with religions being followed world wide these days, it's less likely.
