Shortness of breath when using any kind of medication, topical or otherwise, is usually a sign of an allergic reaction. If you read the packaging for your particular brand of Benzoyl Peroxide, I'm sure you'll find this written on there. You should stop using it for the time being (instead, try spot-treating blemishes with a small dab of toothbaste, it'll dry them up over night, or, try a product with salicylic acid), and make an appointment with your doctor to find out for sure if you are allergic to the BP itself, or something else in that particular brand, and to discuss other medications you could use instead. Keep in mind, though, that these allergies can go from annoying to life-threatening with no warning, so be very careful!

I hope this helps you.

Do not use this if you are having this reaction. Please stay away from it till you talk to a doctor. Usually, most people are suited to ths chemical, however, in your case it might be one of the reactions known to occur rarely. Be safe. Good luck
