Absolutely true. I think there is also an African saying that goes like this, " When the white man came, he had the bible and we had the land. Now, he has the land and we have the bible". Sorry if I didn't get it totally right. Maybe, some of the missionaries did all that thinking that they were helping, but, the end result is that other cultures were destroyed and people were cut off from their roots.

They have a point, a good point. It's really sad what so-called missionaries did to this country and to the people of this country. But then again, that's human nature. They came here, oppressed the Native Americans, then when they finished with them the African Americans were next, and after them it was women-all of these groups still being discriminated against, mind you.
Brings me to the question, again-what makes other people think that they are better than you because you don't believe in what they believe in?

Many early missionaries did just that. Slave owners considered themselves the saviors of slaves for bringing them to a Christian home and educating them that God loved them. Many slaves were told that it was God's plan and God's will that they always be subversive and obey their masters. I'm surprised that any African Americans are Christians today just because of what Christian owners did to their ancestors. I suppose that here in the US being a Christian is the easiest path to follow since you can simply pick and choose beliefs and then find a denomination that represents whatever part of Christianity you have chosen to follow.

I agree with what he is saying. Religion is the worst thing done to the Indians. The Indians lived a good free life when they did not worship the christian, muslin, etc god. Then the Europeans made them convert, and they lost everything, and lived wretched lives. That is why I am glad that I am not enlightened.

i think this might sum it up best:

I think I know why Christianity spread, it has to do with why
europeans spread to colonize, and these europeans were christians.

Farming started in the fertile crescent like 8000 years ago, which
is where iran is, and this was like cows and wheat.

Now, the farming is able to go east and west on Earth faster than it
does North and south, cause of sunlight, etc. and you all are smart
enough to know about genetics.

So the farming spread to Europe fast, as did Christianity, because
as you all know the good emporer of Rome in 325 or 344 or whatever
pirated Christianity to unify the empire, and thats why the "bible"
became "official".

Farming was in Mexico like 2000 years ago but again, north south was
hard and it didn't get far,
Farming was in Africa in the North, but it didn't spread to the
south really at all,
And there wasn't much farming in Australia, there was a little, but
not enough, and the people came to Australia and the America's late
in the development of human evolution, and they werent scared of
animals, so they killed all the potential animals for domestication,

Since the European Christians had a lot of farming with a lot of
animals, they built up immunities to diseases that the animals
had, for example the bubonic plauge killed like half of europe, but
the survivors were immunue, geneticalls,

they had the advantadge of guns too,

now,
asia also had farming you see, pigs and rice in fact,
they were smart people,
they actually discovered america in 1421, but when the ships got
back a bunch of muslims took over china and didn't give a **** about
science (these muslims were stupid muslims, there have been
scientific muslims in history)

asia had guns too, the chinese, at this time also

Now, The Europeans went to the Americas, Africa, and the Australia,

with them they brought their guns and their germs,

so they killed lots of the native americans, australians, and
africans,

thus christianity is a dominant religion on planet earth today,

notice that christianity only in recent decades has spread to asia,
and even this is still a small minority

So all these people who say they know their God is right cause of
the Bible, well, its only by the fate of latitude of Germany and
SPain and France and England being that of Iran and Iraq and
bringing farming there that Europe was put into a position to take
by guns and germs the majority of the Earth, and not because of
anything inherintly good with Christianity itself.

The Muslims in China that took over in 1421, after the ships left to
circumnavigate the globe, its not like they took over a Christian
government, so don't think its destiny here either that muslims
took over and this is why china didn't take over.

Muslims were at two points in their history great.

Between 800 and 1100 they had great advances in science in Northern
Africa. But because of some wars the people in charge said no more
science no more thinking about the Qur'an just believe it when we
say kill the infidels.

Then again in the late 1800s muslims in Egypt debated evolution and
were very scientific.

But then they got all mad about Israel, etc. and follow this on down
to the United States putting troops in Saudia Arabia in 1990, this
pissed off Bin Laden, and then he started attacking America,

Sept. 11, etc.

It is important to note that muslims took US Navy sailors in the
late 1700s, and Thomas Jefferson said why do you do this we never
attacked you,
the ambassodor to Tripoli said because our Qur'an gives us
permission to make slaves of non-muslims.

When Thomas Jefferson became President he sent in the marine corps
to get rid of that government, since making Americans slaves was
unnacceptable.

The Marine core song, "from the shores of tripoli"

It was one of the most eloquent things I ever read.

Sadly one of the truest to.

Too bad Christianity can’t grow up and recognize that there is only one God with many different names.
