I am a 41 year-old otherwise healthy female in need of urgent dental care assistance.

I was recently told by my dentist that the cost of repairing my teeth would be about $47.000. This includes five implants and twenty dental units. I am a self-employed single parent. All of the dental plans I have looked into, indicate a cap of around $1000 - $1500 per year. This means that even if I were to obtain dental insurance, it would only cover about 3% of the total cost. I do not qualify for any kind of state or federal aid as I make enough money to live on. However, I cannot make enough to pay for this treatment.

Before visiting my current dentist, I paid almost $30.000 to another dentist whose work was so bad almost everything he made broke within a year. I trust my current dentist's diagnosis and treatment plan. I just do not have the money to pay for it.

Does anyone know of organizations or individual(s) who could help?

Many people are going abroad for extensive dental work. I've heard of Mexico, India and Eastern Europe. For $47,000 you could have a nice vacation, take care of your teeth, AND put money in the bank.

ticket to india with return <$1000
operation <$5000 (it depends on what you want to do but 1 root canal is priced at Rs1000 that is $23
food and stay in india < $500
and you get a great vacation.

Thats what i do for my dental treatment. You can even travel to mexico. The dentists there study in US and practice in mexico. so that would be your best closer bet.

Its not worth doing the operation in US when it will cost you a lung and a kidney.

Get your dental treatment in India.Dental treatment and surgery) is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges all surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients as dental surgery is not covered by insurance in USA or by the stinking NHS in UK

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your dental treatment and surgery surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star .

My cousin got her dental work done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. She paid just 30% of the cost what she was quoted in USA .hope this helps.I strongly recommend you to talk to this company as this can be of big help to you.

If you contact the office of the state dental society (under "American Dental Association" in the yellow pages), they may be able to put you in touch with a charity care program, if one exists in your state.

I'm 48 and in the same position almost - have 4 broken teeth (that you can't see thank goodness) but I can't afford to even go to the dentist to find out how much it's going to cost to get it all fixed. If you find out anything, can you please come back and email me??? I've been trying to find help too. It's not fair. It is too expensive just to "exist" anymore. Good luck.

What kind of dental work do you need? That sound outrageously expensive. You can get all of your teeth pulled and get dentures for $3000. I would get a second opinion.

Try the local dental school. They generally take patients that need a lot of work probono.
