I think different colored dresses look fine - as long as you're sure it's what you want too. I know that you want them both to be comfortable but at the same time you have to make sure you are happy with the dresses they are in too! Good luck!

It is totally ok for the maid of honor and your bridemaid to wear two different colours. However I don't think black dresses look good at a wedding. I suggest the bride maid wear another accent colour of one of hte wedding colours.

Personally I think black works best for an evening wedding. I would suggest maybe putting the maid of honour in a similar color to that of the bridesmaids - maybe go a shade or two lighter or darker. You could also consider having a different floral arrangement for the maid of honor.

I had my maid of honor in a different color. I just used a darker color. But there are no rules in weddings anymore, and it would really make the maid-of-honor separate. I also had my maid-of-honor walk in by herself, since the best-man was up front while the other groomsman walked the bridesmaids in.

Good luck planning and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. If you have any more questions or anything don't hesitate to email me at glitter3317@yahoo.com

It does no longer make a large difference no matter if the gown color is an same because the Bridesmaids or thoroughly distinct. right that's 3 recent weddings . . . Bride # a million requested her Maid of Honor and a pair of Bridesmaids to placed on the color burgundy from a particular production company. They were accepted to %. out their very personal sort of gown see you later because it became burgundy. All 3 gown kinds were distinct, their bouquets were the same sort (pink and burgundy). Bride # 2 informed her 5 Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor to placed on "a lengthy black gown." each and each and every woman bought their very personal dress to their flavor (lengthy sleeve, strapless, short sleeve, scoop neckline with jacket). The Bride tied the look at the same time by employing giving each and each and every of the Bridesmaids a lengthy crystal rope necklace and matching earrings and bracelet. each and each and every of the girls carried a pink rose bouquet, the look became outstanding! Bride # 3 had her 3 Bridesmaids placed on an A-line golden brown ordinary short gown with an same scarf. The Maid of Honor wore the same gown with an same lace bolero jacket. The Bridesmaids carried a bouquet of gold mums and the Maid of Honor carried a bouquet of fall leaves and gold mums. replied by employing: an approved wedding ceremony professional / a pro bridal representative / a wedding ceremony ceremony officiant

Black is fine, so long as they're comfortable - that's the key! I did the same thing with our wedding...I told my Maid of Honor to wear whatever color she felt best in...and she picked pale yellow - which was gorgeous on her. I was just happy that she was happy. Good for you for being such a fair and compassionate bride - congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!

You know, this is your wedding. You should do what you want in terms of colors of dresses, and pretty much anything else that is important to you.
Five years from now - nobody is going to care, or even remember what colors you used - except you.
Your wedding is a once in a life time experience (we hope) and one of the biggest events of your life - how it's done is the decision of the bride and groom. After all, you're the ones who have to put up with your kids tee-heeing about how weird ""mom and dad" looked when they got married (way back then.)
Believe me, they probably will - styles change. Have you looked at your parents' or aunts' or friends' parents wedding pictures? Styles CHANGE!
Do what will make you happy - and have the time of your life!
Wishing you a hundred years of happiness with your groom!

if youre happy...and they're happy...what does it really matter :) Black can be beautfiul but so can burgundy....my maid of honor was my sister, who wore the same dress, but carried different flowers...i was the maid of honor in a wedding and I wore the same color, but the make of the dress was different....its all about what YOU like...if you like your bridemaids in black and you're maid of honor in burgundy..then the rest of the world should be happy with it too! Congrats hun!

I think it would look terrific.. My colors were yellow, green, and white. My maid of honor wore yellow, bridesmaids wore green, and the flowers were daisies. I hate the weddings where everyone looks alike, my friends didn't look alike, and so I gave them some leeway on the style of dress (I chose 2, and let them pick which they liked) and accessories. It looked great. Congrats on your upcoming wedding.
