Please don't second guess where I was going with this question. You don't have to hide behind your computer and insult people, okay?

Once the job is done, I'd like them all to come home. But to bring them home now would be to abandon the people to Iraq. And the insurgants would take over. Iraq, and many other countries, would not trust us anymore. If you say you're going to do something.... you should do it.

What do you think? How many people would like to just sit home and not have to work? It's people like Saddam and the leaders like the one in North Korea that make us have to go. I was in the invasion in Iraq... OIF 1. I was glad to be there, to do my job and I know I'll have to go back. We have a job to do. Of course I would prefer that it never happened. I would also prefer that everyone in the world would get along. We don't live in that kind of world.
People don't remember what was on the news even then. The whole story is not told even while it's happening and especially later when they have an agenda.
Saddam had the Samoud missile. He told us that he didn't have that. You don't hear the news telling THAT story. It has a longer range than the scud and can use navigational technology. He fired on our aircraft almost every day, a declaration of war. He cept his promises to his people... he would kill them if they publicly dissagreed or even made jokes about him. He authorised ethnic cleaning in his country. I seem to remember someone named Milosovich getting bombed, captured and tried for the same reason... BTW, we're still in Kosovo too, how many soldiers would like to come back from that?

When I was in Iraq - I was counting the days until my tour was complete. But I was not about to come home early. The only way I was going to come home early was if I were injured and evacuated.

None of us 'want' to be there. We all have places that we regard as more pleasant. However - we are there to do a job and it would be a grave disservice to all of us if we were not allowed to finish the job properly.

All of them. No one wants to stay there indefinately. They have families they miss. But all of them that I know believe in what they are doing, and feel pride in the job they are doing. They are true heroes...and the ONLY ones who know the good that has been done by our soldiers over there, and not just the medias biased negative reporting about what the soldiers have done.

how many soldiers do you think want to come home??? all of them! They don't want to be over there any more than we want them there. They're away from family, wives, husbands, children, friends....that's no life to want.

personally...i KNOW how bad my soldier wants to come home...and all his friends. lol, it's a pretty easy question.

this is such a stupid question. they all would love to. this is their home. in WW1, our troops wanted to come home...in WW2 they wanted to come home. in Korea and Vietnam they wanted to come home.

this question will not make the political statement that you had hoped for. while all our soldiers want to come home, they have a job (which may be something you lack) and they have to complete it.
