I'd go with no, just to be safe.
Its funny, but the whole greeting kiss thing is always confusing to me. If its a friend, relative, or friend-of-my-boyfriend's whom I know he is close to, I'll assume a "HELLO!" followed by a little hug and cheek peck. But there have been times that I've "gone for the kiss on the cheek" and they look awkward and don't do the kiss thing. Then I feel kind of stupid. Now I just go for what I'm comfortable with and let the other person communicate (bodily or verbally) what is appropriate. Hope that helps!
