When the child is at my house I try my best to him to eat. But he dosent!
I have seen it so many times that he wont eat his meals but is always allowed ice cream, chocolate, cookies anything and eveyrthing he wants. But nothing of health food.

McDonald's and other food companies spend millions of dollars to make sure their product tastes good. McDonald's only uses Simplot potatoes from Idaho, and took nearly five years to come up with the oil they fry their fries in. That is why kids and adults like these products more than healthy foods.
You need to talk to your friend and tell her your concerns about her child. Then you are putting the ball in her court to do what she thinks is best for her child. By not speaking up, you are doing the child and your friend an injustice. A real friend will understand that you are just trying to help.

has the child had any food at all?Or just not the food you consider to be healthy food? Some children especially age 2 to 4 yrs old will not eat veggies etc.I had a couple like that.My doctor told me just to give them what ever they would eat because they get nourishment even from junk food. And around the 4th year they will begin to eat other foods. When you consider all the preservatives etc in processed foods today, and the fact that even fresh fruits and veggies do not contain the proper amount of nutrients our body's need.It really doesn't make a difference what they eat!And the fact is,if it isn't your child you do not have the right to decide what is and isn't right for the child. If the child is clean, clothed and not being beaten or molested, leave them alone! You'll only create a lot of bad feelings! And I might add if you involve CPS you could be creating a lot of heart ache for that family!Once CPS gets involved there have so many families needlessly torn apart. If the child is your grandchild, then talk with "your" child and tell them how you feel. But don't be surprised when they tell you to stay away!

As a grandmother of 7 I understand where you are coming from. If it is your grandhild maybe you could talk to the mother or father which ever is your child. Remind them of the meals they had as children. and as children they were taught the major food groups in school. 2 year old children don't always eat what they should they are still learning likes and dislikes. They should be offered a variety of foods, but not forced to eat them. In time they will learn to eat different foods.
I have a day care and have learned over the years between family and all the others in my care that most children unless mistreated thrive on little food.

If you know that actually a 2 year old has not eaten in 2 days. You are responsible for the child safety as much as the parents are. Call Child Services in your city. Explain the situation and have them look into the matter. This is the correct action to take.
You have to get involved as the child welfare is at stake.

Print out reasearch on the internet and share it with the child's parents stating how damaging junk food is to a child...of any age. My son is 23 months and he eats almost all veggies because that is what he is used to. It sounds like they are just being lazy and don't want to fix a real meal.

What is your place in this child's life? I agree with your opinion about the junk food but is it any of your business? If it is a family member or good friend maybe you could have them sit and watch 'Honey, we're killing the kids' with you. Meanwhile, while the kids are in your care and in your house, just make healthy food available and if they refuse to eat it tell them that is all you have. That is about all you can do for someone who is not your child.

Sounds like shes filling up with something at least. Sounds like you're a grandparent. There is nothing you can do as long as the child is not clinicaly malnourished. Your best bet is to stay out of it or the parents may decide that they no longer want you around the child at all.

That is when you dont give him an option you take him out to play to get the energy out and make him hungry and sit food down in front of him and just wait dont force it you will see that since there is no junk he has to eat that or make a chart that if he eats most of his bf, lunch or dinner then he may have a treat of 10 mms or scoop of sugarfree icecream. Trust me it will work.

Sounds like they are too lazy to properly prepare meals for the child. Suggest to your friend that if her child isn't going to eat right then he/she needs to be on a mulivitamin. I really don't know what you could do unless you just talk to them or talk to their parents. I wish you the best of luck.
