Yeeeah, that's pretty much it right there. We are the ante in a bet between the two. God says there will always be people to worship him no matter what and Satan says that mankind doesn't need God and can get along without him, that we would always want to do what we want to do.
Depressing, isn't it?

and far away in some recess , the lord and the devil are now playing chess , the devil still cheats and wins more souls , and as for the lord well ... he's just doing his best ( Chris De Burgh - Spanish train )
I'm sure there is more to life than the lyrics of a song though ( all be it a good one)

It's not a game but a court case between God and Satan. And we have the potential of being witnesses for the prosecution at this point in history.

There is no "game" there is no "devil". Man created negativity. By choosing to be ignorant. By not taking a bite of that apple on the tree of knowledge.

While it is about the choices you make, it's also about good vs evil and the "game" as you would call it that does exist. The choices we make can be narrowed down to good vs evil. The devil/satan/etc. is always trying to push himself onto you, while God rather waits for you to come to him.
Once again, Good vs Evil.

Gods and devils and angels and heaven and hell and souls and whatnot... it's all arrant nonsense, religious mythology which we should have discarded years ago as being no more real than Santa Claus. Life has exactly as much or as little meaning as you choose to give it.
