What are some replacements for the cosmo?

I'm helping a friend with a party later this week. She likes cosmos but feels they're dated and went out with the end of "Sex in the City." What's in these days?

Try this: (trust me!)
Strawberry Lemon Drop:
1&1/2 oz. Stoli Strasberi
3/4 oz. sweet & Sour mix
3/4 oz. simple syrup
squeeze 1 wedge of lemon
splash of non-alcoholic strawberry margarita mix
shake and strain into a sugar-rimmed martini glass.

I think different takes on the martini are still pretty popular. A cosmopolitan is just that, a different kind of martini, but there are LOTS of others. Apple-tinis, chocolate martinis, etc.

Also big are "retro" drinks like the Rob Roy, Pink Lady, etc.

I would say to get a theme for the party and match the drinks to the theme. A luau could be tropical drinks like Mai Tais and Rum Swizzles, a retro party would be the above-mentioned retro drinks, etc...

uh they're still in. try other flavored martinis like lemon drop, vodka martini, green apple martini, dreamsicle martini. the list goes on and on if she hate's cosmos. i still order them and i'm not alone. they're still really popular
